20190023472 · 2019-01-24 ·

A packaging structure for at least one article includes a pair of generally rectangular support structures with front, side, rear, and interior walls. The walls divide the rectangular support structure into a plurality of triangular sections. The front and interior walls contain a least one opening configured to correspond with the configuration of the article to hold and secure the article in place. The packaging structure is created from a rectangular blank made of foldable material that has a plurality of spaced vertical fold lines, panels, and aligned openings each configured to correspond with the configuration of the article. The packaging structure is formed by folding the blank along the fold lines and securing the blank in the folded condition. The blanks are formed first within computer aided design software by determining the dimensions and profile of a packaging structure, forming openings for an article in a packaging structure, unfolding the packaging structure within the design software into a flat pattern to form a master blank, and using the master blank to create cutting dies for forming additional blanks.

Package Material Blank and Method of Forming the Same

A package material blank comprises a body panel having a main panel, two second panels arranged adjacent to the main panel and at least one third panel. End closure panels arranged adjacent to the body panel, the end closure panels comprising a top and bottom closure panels arranged adjacent to the main and the at least one third panel, respectively and flap closure panels arranged adjacent to the two second panels. Lines of weakness separate each of the body and end closure panels. A line of weakness is provided on the main panel having a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion extends from a first point to a second point and the second portion extend from a third point to the second point.

A wrap around container (31) for holding an electronic device (53) has a substantially rectangular panel (34) comprising a device receiving portion (43) at one end of the panel (34), a fixing portion (35) at the opposite end of the panel (34), and a wrap around portion (37) in between. A pair of flaps (32, 33) extend from opposite sides of the device receiving portion (43) of the panel (34), each side being on a respective longitudinal edge of the rectangular panel (34). Each flap (32, 33) is arranged to be folded into a closed position where the flap (32, 33) is over at least a part of the device receiving portion (43) and an upper surface of a device (53) when placed on the device receiving portion (43). The wrap around portion (37) is arranged to wrap at least over the flaps (32, 33) in the closed position and the fixing portion (35) is arranged to be fixed to an outside of the container (31) after wrapping of the wrap around portion (37) to close the container (31). Foam means (50) extend over at least part of the device receiving portion (43) and onto the surface of each flap (32, 33) facing the device receiving portion (43) when in the closed position so as to form a foam barrier between a device (53) placed on the device receiving portion (43) and the device receiving portion (43) and the closed flaps (32, 33). The foam means (50) are attached to the device receiving portion (43) and the two flaps (32, 33) and the foam means (50) is configured to be peelable away from the container (31) when the container (31) is open.

Wraparound Shipping Box Blank with System and Method of Forming Blank into a Shipping Case
20180170607 · 2018-06-21 ·

A corrugated paperboard wraparound blank for forming a shipping case is provided, including five wall panels and four sets of end flaps connected via fold lines, at least two sets of stacking tabs, and at least two corresponding sets of receiving slots for receiving the stacking tabs. The wraparound blank is formed of a heavier material than a conventional blank, which would typically be difficult for automatic packaging equipment to form into a case, but the fold lines are creased with optional perforations or scoring. An optional modification aiding folding is presented for conventional case packers. The heavier fiberboard better supports and protects an inner product, such as cartons or paper bottles of liquids and reduces damage to the cap and neck. The heavier material in combination with the stacking tabs allows an increase in stacking height, thereby reducing transportation costs.
