A package (1) for storing a food product is provided. The package (1) comprises a bottom part (3) formed by a thermoplastic material, a main body (2) formed by a packaging material, wherein the main body (2) is in the form of a sleeve comprising a top section (14) and a base section (12), said base section (12) being connected to the bottom part (3), wherein the top section (14) of the main body (2) is sealed transversally forming a fluid-tight closure of the package (1).

The present invention refers to a container precursor, comprising a composite sheet which comprises a) an outer polymer layer, b) a colour application, c) a carrier layer, and d) a barrier layer;
wherein a wall of the container precursor comprises a first wall region and a second wall region. The invention further refers to a closed container, obtainable from the container precursor; and to a closed container having the above composite sheet, the first and the second wall region.

A carton package is disclosed comprising a top panel, a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, a left panel, and a right panel separated by four edges. The front panel is connected to the top panel along a front-top edge and is connected to the bottom panel along a front-bottom edge. At a first height, measured from the front-bottom edge, the transversal width of the front panel measured from a front-left edge to a front-right edge is larger than a length of the front-bottom edge, and larger than a length of the front-top edge. A package for pourable food products and method for moulding a polymeric opening portion to a packaging sheet material is provided. The package can include an opening portion and a weakening feature. In some embodiments, the opening portion can be made of a polymer composition. In some embodiments, the weakening feature has a thickness below 200 micrometers and is thinner than parts of the opening portion directly adjacent to said weakening feature. The polymer composition can include sodium sulphite particles. In some embodiments, the sodium sulphite particles have the following size characteristics: (i) 0% having a size above 75 micrometers, and (ii) an average size below 25 micrometers.

A packaging container formed by folding a sheet material and includes a container body that has a trunk, a top and a bottom. The trunk serves as side panels, while the top and the bottom are respectively connected to ends of the trunk. In the packaging container, a first weakened portion is linearly formed in the container body.

A paperboard food container incudes a receptacle with an opening, and a closure disposed across the opening. The closure includes two surfaces, one having a tamper-evident region of weakness. One of the surfaces has an edge with a length and a tab attached to the edge, the tab having a first position wherein the tab overlies a portion of the surface having a length substantially equal to the length of the edge and a second position wherein the tab is spaced from the surface. One of the tab and the portion of the surface has an adhesive disposed thereon, and the other of the tab and the portion has a release coating disposed thereon. With the tab in the first position, the adhesive cannot be joined to the other surface, but with the tab in the second position, the surfaces may be joined to seal the closure.

The invention is an improvement of the well-known gable top packaging, commonly seen in milk and juice products. The improvement lies in the opening and closing of such packaging with a pull-to-open type opening. This invention addresses the problem that this type of packaging not is water tight after opening. The invention solves this leaking problem by adding a so called zip lock fastener in the opening area of the package. Zip lock fasteners are characterized by having an interlocking groove and ridge that form a tight seal when pressed together. When the user is folding in the pouring spout the zip lock fasteners meet and form a liquid tight joint. The invention is concerning the type and function of the zip lock and its placement. The invention describes as well how to produce gable-top packaging with this new liquid tight zip lock closure.
