20180086019 · 2018-03-29 ·

A method and system are disclosed for forming a can from a re-configurable blank. A blank is also disclosed that may be a paper based blank and may be of multi-layer construction. The method may comprise: (a) supporting the blank in a first orientation; (b) positioning a first portion of an outward facing surface of a blank support device proximate a first portion of the blank while the blank is in the first orientation; (c) while the first portion of the blank is in the first orientation, rotating a second portion of the blank around a second portion of the outward facing surface of the blank support device; and (d) rotating a third portion of the blank from the first orientation, around a third portion of the outward facing surface of the blank support device. A generally tubular side wall may thus be formed for a can.

A secure shipping container includes an inner sleeve formed in the shape of a tray that can be inserted into an outer sleeve formed as a tube with one closed end and one open end. The inner sleeve is sized to be shorter than the outer sleeve so that when full inserted into the outer sleeve the contents of the tray are not accessible, and the inner sleeve is not removable without a special opening tool. Each sleeve includes a slot into which an opener can be inserted to permit a user to slide the inner sleeve out of the outer sleeve in order to access the contents of the container. A method of assembly of the components and use to ship materials is also described.

Child-safe cannabis packaging

The present disclosure relates to child-safe packaging. In accordance with aspects and embodiments, a child-safe packaging system is provided comprising a cardstock inner package having an internal cavity dimensioned to hold a product and a cardstock outer sleeve having an open end a closed end, wherein the inner package is sized to frictionally fit within the outer sleeve. To access the inner package, force must be applied to the inner package through an access hole in the outer sleeve. To further safeguard the contents of the inner package, the frictional fit may be enhanced by application of a coating to portions of the inner packaging and outer sleeve, and the inner package may be made shorter than the outer sleeve.

A package comprises first and second walls, joined by first and second side walls, and defining an internal volume therebetween. A retainer wall is locatable in the internal volume to lie against the first wall. A first locking feature is arrangeable inside the internal volume between the first wall and the retainer wall. A closure flap is coupled to the second wall at a forward end of the package. The closure flap is movable between a closed configuration in which the closure flap blocks access to the internal storage volume, and an open configuration in which the closure flap permits access to the internal storage volume via the forward end. The closure flap comprises a second locking feature configured such that when the closure flap is in the closed configuration the second locking feature is positioned inside the internal volume between the first wall and the retainer wall, such that the retainer wall forces the second locking feature into engagement with the first locking feature to lock the closure flap in the closed configuration. The first wall is flexible, to allow deflection of the first wall away from the retainer wall to cause movement of the first locking feature in an unlocking direction, thereby disengaging the first locking feature from the second locking feature to permit movement of the closure flap.
