A packaging apparatus forming a box with an integral product holder from a single biodegradable material. The box comprises a top flap, bottom flap, and side panels extending longitudinally therebetween, all the panels foldably connected such that the box substantially encloses a heavy object. The integral holder is preferably foldably connected to a side panel of the box to be placed within the box, and is sized such that the integral holder cradles the heavy object to prevent movement during shipment. Tabs are foldably connected to the integral holder and are adjacent to side panels to secure the position of the integral holder during transportation and storage.

Second and third identical end blanks are provided, each end blank defining at least an end wall secured in overlapping relation to the vertical side flanges. A corner piece is defined by a web of material, each corner piece extending between a longitudinal edge of one of the vertical side flanges and a longitudinal edge of the bottom flange to define a leak resistant corner.

The bottom panel is divided into first and second sectional panels on opposing sides of an interface comprising perforated portions extending from a first pair of diagonally opposing corners of the bottom panel. Each perforated portion includes an inner end, wherein the inner ends of the perforated portions are longitudinally spaced from each other. First and second fold lines extend diagonally at least partially between a second pair of diagonally opposing corners of the bottom panel and respective perforated portions. A frangible central portion of the interface extends between the inner ends of the perforated portions, wherein a plurality of unbroken flutes of the corrugated material extend laterally across the central portion of the interface.

An exemplary, nonlimiting embodiment of the present disclosure provides a box, as well as a method of use for the box, which may be opened and closed without substantially damaging the structural integrity of the box. The box comprises a segmental lid, which comprises of a first, second, third, and fourth flap. The first and fourth flaps further comprise a first and second pivotable tab, respectfully. The pivotable tabs are pivotally configurable and are preferably configured to be oriented in substantially opposing directions, relative to one another when the first and fourth flap are disposed in the same plane. The pivotable to allow for the flaps to be disposed in a closed position without damaging the box. The method comprises disposing the flaps into their respectively closed positions such that they may be subsequently re-opened without compromising the structural integrity of the box.

A blank which can be folded to form a pack for food items and the like. The blank being formed of a laminate of a card layer on a film layer. The blank has a front face (9) and rear face (13) connected to opposite sides of a base (10) via fold lines (12, 14). The base has a central third transverse fold line (11) about which the base can be folded in an opposite sense. Side panels (15, 17) extend transversely from both sides of the blank. A film layer extends beyond the card layer so as to form unsupported film regions with a first region extending transversely from the base (10) and a second region continuous with the first region to at least partially overlie a corresponding side panel (15, 17) when the blank is folded. The second regions of unsupported film bond with the film on the corresponding side panel to seal the side panels in the erected pack.

The laminar container has a circular base having a double concentric cone. The laminar container's sides close on itself to create a self-bearing square, or geometric, outline container with lids. The container is manually formed from the an engraved laminar sheet. The containers can be stored and transported flat.

Multiple-skived paper-based container

The present invention relates generally to a new and improved paper-based container. More specifically, the invention relates to a paper-based container that is comprised of a relatively low-density polyethylene coating on one or both surfaces of the container and at least two skive flaps, wherein each of said skive flaps is created during the manufacturing process. The skive flap further comprises at least one leading edge of the container body, and prevents unwanted moisture from entering the container and the contents of the container from saturating the paper-based material. One skive flap is preferably folded in a manner in which a portion of the outside surface of the container is adhered to the inside surface, a second skive flap is adhered to the outside surface and a third skive is formed at the bottom of the container.

A tray for holding at least one food product includes a plurality of panels extending at least partially around an interior of the tray, the plurality of panels including a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, and at least one side panel, a plurality of end flaps foldably connected to a respective panel of the plurality of panels and cooperating to form a rim extending outwardly from the plurality of panels, and locking features comprising at least one male locking feature extending from at least one end flap of the plurality of end flaps, the at least one male locking feature at least partially inserted through at least one female locking feature in a respective panel of the plurality of panels to reinforce the rim.
