FRACTURABLE CONTAINER
20200156842 · 2020-05-21 ·

A container includes a body having a cavity for containing contents. The container includes a flange arranged about a perimeter of the body a cover is affixed to the flange for enclosing the contents within the cavity, and a fracturable portion including a bend extending across the body bisecting the body into a first and second body portions. The fracturable portion defines a break path along which the body is adapted to fracture when a user applies a force exceeding a predetermined level. The break path has an initiating fracture point and a pair of termini, at each of the flange portions, to fracture from the fracture point in opposing directions along the break path towards each terminus. The fracturable portion has a plurality of fracture conductors spaced apart along the break path defining a localized change in rigidity of the fracturable portion to guide propagation of the fracture.

METHOD FOR TREATING OVERACTIVE BLADDERS AND A DEVICE FOR STORAGE AND ADMINISTRATION OF TOPICAL OXYBUTYNIN COMPOSITIONS

The invention relates to a method for treating overactive bladders; a device for storing and administering non-occluded oxybutynin topical compositions and a method for preparing the device for storing and administering non-occluded oxybutynin topical compositions.

BIODEGRADABLE CONTAINER FOR SOLID PRODUCTS

A biodegradable container for use with solid products such as deodorant or antiperspirant is disclosed. The container includes a body having a sidewall, a bottom end, a top end, and an opening at the top end. The deodorant is placed within a chamber formed by the sidewall. The sidewall includes a set of rings of circumferential perforations, the rings being located at intervals between the top end and the bottom end. A wax base seals the bottom end of the body, and a cap closes the top end of the body. The deodorant is exposed by shortening the height of the body by tearing off the top of the body at a ring of circumferential perforations. The container body, the wax base, and the cap are made of biodegradable or recycled materials.

Packaging and method of opening

A crack-propagation line is separate from a seal joining two shells of a confectionery packaging. The confectionery packaging is opened by separating the packaging along the crack-propagation line such that a portion of at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging is broken to form an opening through which the packaged confectionery can be removed. Consequently, there is provided a method of forming a confectionery packaging and a method of packaging a confectionery product wherein two shells of a confectionery packaging are sealed together and a crack-propagation line is formed in a portion of at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging. Suitably, the crack-propagation line extends away from the seal joining the two parts. The confectionery packaging is opened by separating at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging, leaving the seal substantially unaffected. The additional step of forming a separate crack-propagation line rather than intending the confectionery packaging to be opened by separating the two parts through the seal provides improved opening characteristics.

OPENING CONFIGURATION FOR SHRINK-WRAPPED PACKAGE

Non-crosslinked polyolefin films or doped crosslinked polyolefin films (i.e., crosslinked polyolefin films that include a tear-alignment additive) may be used to shrink-wrap packages to create a wrapped package that is protected from tampering and damage but is also easy to open with little effort required by the customer. There is no need for perforations, and the films are quiet when torn, folded, cut, etc. Tear initiating cuts may be formed in the film. A tab may be placed over the film, and when the tab is pulled it applies enough force to start a pair of straight tears. The tears may be parallel or perpendicular to each other. The tears propagate in non-crosslinked polyolefin easily in the machine direction of the film as the tab continues to be pulled. In a doped crosslinked polyolefin, the tears propagate in the machine direction or perpendicular to the machine direction of the film.

The dual mouth shotgun can may combine the advantages of a standard aluminum beverage can with a second opening to allow for a high rate of air flow and displacement resulting in a high rate of fluid flow from the can. The can may implement a stay-tab mechanism, or any other appropriate mechanism, for ease of use and familiarity, on the standard top opening, and may further implement a stay-tab mechanism, or other appropriate mechanism on the bottom or lower side of the can for shotgunning the fluid in the can. The dual mouth shotgun can may provide a user with a single opening mechanism on its top surface for normal drinking, and a second opening mechanism on its bottom or lower side surface for drinks shotgunning. In one embodiment the can may comprise an upper and a lower body that may be twisted relative to one another to expose an opening in the side of the can that allows for drinks shotgunning. In another embodiment the can may further comprise a pushrod that leverages the second opening open when the first opening is opened. In another embodiment the can may require that the upper and lower bodies must be rotated to align outer and inner holes that then allow the pushrod to push open the second opening.
