SPORTS COMPETITION SERVER HOSTING GAMES BETWEEN REMOTE OPPONENTS USING PHYSICAL SPORTS IMPLEMENTS IN REAL-TIME
Real-time sports competition is hosted by a server between remote opponents. The interactive sports game play involves sport specific tools simulating equipment used for in-person sports competition with projectiles. Opponents are paired for sports competition using the sport specific tools, including identifying opponents from the plurality of players to compete. A competitive sports game is hosted between the paired opponents by receiving input from each player sourced from a sport specific tool with sensors to determine motion of the specific sport tool caused by players, and wireless circuitry to transmit motion data to the user computers, wherein motion data includes at least velocity and impact force against a projectile. A winner of the competitive sports game can be determined.
Methods, systems, and apparatus for bi-directional communication with wearable location devices
An example disclosed method of receiving first blink data from a first tag, the first tag carried by a wearable location device associated with a monitored individual having a restricted region; determining tag location data based on the first blink data, the tag location data indicative of the monitored individual locations of the monitored individuals; determining if the monitored individual location is within the restricted region; and when the monitored individual location is within the restricted region: identifying a second tag associated with a security person in proximity to the monitored individual location; alerting the security personnel via the second tag as to the monitored individual being located in the restricted region.
Real-time and dynamically generated graphical user interfaces for competitive events and broadcast data
Real-time and dynamically generated graphical user interfaces for competitive events and broadcast data are disclosed herein. An example method includes determining, for each of a plurality of individuals, at least one of an absolute performance threshold or a personal performance threshold; receiving a data feed from each of a plurality of workout devices associated with the plurality of individuals over a network, the data feed including at least one of real-time absolute performance data or real-time personal performance data; determining, for each of the individuals, a performance zone based on a comparison of at least one of the real-time absolute performance data and the absolute performance threshold or the real-time personal performance data and the personal performance threshold; generating a graphical user interface that includes a broadcast of a real-time video of an instructor leading a workout; and a real-time leaderboard overlaid on the broadcast.
Chair Exerciser
The Chair Exerciser is an apparatus and method to exercise one's core, back, and legs while working on tasks that are normally performed seated. These tasks include computer work, watching television, or computer gaming. The Chair Exerciser fits on a regular chair and one sits upon it. The Chair Exerciser's resistance can be adjusted to the suit the needs of the user. The multitasking of work and exercise is an attractive benefit to the Chair Exerciser. The Chair Exerciser can also be formed as an integral part of the chair as opposed to a portable unit.
Performance monitoring systems and methods
Systems and methods for electronically conducting a fitness activity challenge are disclosed. The method may include first collecting electronic fitness data related to a first fitness activity, collecting second electronic fitness data related to a second fitness activity, generating comparison data by comparing the first electronic fitness data and the second electronic fitness data, and displaying the comparison data.
PORTABLE MONITORING DEVICES AND METHODS OF OPERATING SAME
According to one embodiment, an apparatus comprising a portable monitoring device to be affixed to a user. The portable monitoring device including: 1) a set of one or more sensors to generate sensor data indicative of physical activity of a user when the portable monitoring device is affixed to the user; and 2) processing circuitry coupled with the set of sensors, to detect that the user has been sedentary for a period of time, and cause the portable monitoring device to alert the user responsive to the detection to encourage the user to move.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS, AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING EXERCISE INTERVALS, ANALYZING ANAEROBIC EXERCISE PERIODS, AND ANALYZING INDIVIDUAL TRAINING EFFECTS
A method and apparatus for improving recognition of anaerobic sections of exercise and to providing feedback on training load or training effect reflecting energy systems used and trained during exercise. The method determines an ‘oxygen debt’ like cumulative physiological sum (usually training effect TE as EPOC value) brought on by a change in a body homeostasis and its aerobic and anaerobic values. Particularly anaerobic value may be determined by a procedure, where a total EPOC (or TRIMP) is determined as a total sum and an aerobic part calculated in a known manner, is deducted from the total sum.
Monitoring and tracking athletic activity
Tracking and monitoring athletic activity offers individuals with additional motivation to continue such behavior. An individual may track his or her athletic activity by completing goals. These goals may be represented by real-world objects such as food items, landmarks, buildings, statues, other physical structures, toys and the like. Each object may correspond to an athletic activity goal and require an amount of athletic activity to complete the goal. For example, a donut goal object may correspond to an athletic activity goal of burning 350 calories. The user may progress from goal object to goal object. Goal objects may increase in difficulty (e.g., amount of athletic activity required) and might only be available for selection upon completing an immediately previous goal object, a number of goal objects, an amount of athletic activity and the like.
Fitness apparatus and method
A vertically oriented fitness apparatus utilizes a combination of upper and lower assemblies resistant to vertical motion when the user pushes and pulls against crossbar members of the assemblies vertically. In alternate embodiments of the apparatus, resistance is provided by a dual action dashpot such as an adjustable bidirectional hydraulic damping cylinder which may be used in combination with spring resistance elements. The user is thus able to perform strength training and fitness conditioning exercises for both upper and lower extremities, and their core simultaneously while using the apparatus.
ELECTROMAGNETIC RESISTANCE FEEDBACK SYSTEM FOR BICYCLE TRAINING DEVICE
An electromagnetic resistance feedback bicycle training device includes a bicycle trainer frame, an electricity generator, and a resistance feedback system. The electricity generator and the resistance feedback system are mounted on the bicycle trainer frame. The resistance feedback system includes a transmission system connectable to an external electronic device, an electromagnetic resistance generation unit operable to induce an electromagnetic resistance force to a rotating object, a feedback circuit, and a control unit. The control unit detects, by means of an electromagnetic detection element of the feedback circuit, a strength of an electromagnetic field generated by the electromagnetic resistance generation unit, and, in response to the strength of the electromagnetic field, adjusts a level of the electromagnetic resistance force generated by the electromagnetic resistance generation unit. As such, the present invention enables self-generation of electricity and self-supply of electrical power without connection with an external power source and features instantaneous feed-back of electromagnetic resistance force and self-adjustment for maintaining a constant level of the electromagnetic resistance force.
