Also provided are fluid handling tubes that include (i) a cap having a sealing member that includes an annular protrusion, and (ii) a tube body having an interior surface that includes an annular recess, where the annular recess in the tube body is configured to receive the annular protrusion of the tubular sealing member of the cap.

Polyisoprene rubber breast hood

The production of a protein free synthetic polyisoprene which has both low levels of chemical impurities and good physical properties has yet to be realized. It has now been envisioned that the use of neodymium catalyzed polyisoprene will offer the combined advantages of both a clean, as well as, high cis-1,4 polymer. Synthesis of polyisoprene rubber using a neodymium based catalyst system is described. Characterization of the material shows the absence of an ultra high molecular weight fraction and the presence of very high cis-1,4-microstructure. Gum stock and black filled compound studies comparing neodymium polyisoprene with natural rubber, titanium polyisoprene, and lithium polyisoprene have been performed. Results indicate that polyisoprene rubber synthesized using a neodymium catalyst system (NdPI) has similar stress-strain and tear properties as synthetic titanium polyisoprene. Analysis of residual volatile, extractable, and oligomer levels indicates NdPI is indeed a clean source of high cis synthetic polyisoprene.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CLOSURE OF SAMPLE VESSELS
20200072858 · 2020-03-05 ·

The invention relates to a system for automatic closure of sample vessels (PG), in particular of sample vessels (PG) with medical laboratory samples, with iii. a plurality of identically shaped, stackable closure caps (10) which have a convex outer face and a concave inner face and which are stacked in at least one closure cap stack in such a way that an upper closure cap (10) in the closure cap stack bears with its convex outer face on the concave inner face of a lower closure cap (10) lying immediately below in the closure cap stack, iv. a closure gripper (20) for gripping an uppermost closure cap (10) from the at least one closure cap stack, for transferring the gripped closure cap (10) to the sample vessel (PG) to be closed, and for introducing the gripped closure cap (10) into an opening of the sample vessel in order to tightly close the opening, wherein the closure gripper (20) has a centering piece which can be inserted into a closure cap (10) in such a way that it bears on the concave inner face of the closure cap (10). With such a system, automated closure of sample vessels is possible in a space-saving and efficient way. Furthermore, a method for automatic closure of sample vessels is also disclosed.
