20190375555 · 2019-12-12 ·

A one-piece closure includes first and second closure portions. The first closure portion includes a top wall portion and an annular skirt portion. The skirt portion includes an internal thread formation and a first frangible connection that partially detachably connects sections of the skirt portion. The second closure portion includes a tamper-evident band that is partially detachably connected to the skirt portion by a second frangible connection. When the first and second frangible connections are broken, a tethered bridge is exposed. The tethered bridge is attached to a portion of the first and second closure portions and extends from about 5 to about 60 degrees around the circumference of the closure. The frangible connections extend from about 300 to about 355 degrees around the circumference of the closure.

A tamper evidence closure assembly is provided for engaging with a finish of a container for sealing contents within an interior of a container. The assembly includes a finish and a tamper evidence closure configured to threadably engage with the finish. The finish comprises a cylindrical portion of the container that begins at an opening to the interior of the container and extends to and includes a support ledge. Threads are configured to engage with the finish. The tamper evidence closure includes a tamper evidence band that is attached to closure by way of a multiplicity of thin connections. The tamper evidence band includes a cam configured to engage with the finish during removal of the tamper evidence closure. The cam causes the thin connections to break such that the tamper evidence band remains disposed on the finish after removal of the tamper evidence closure.

THREAD CATCHING AND ENGAGING TAMPER EVIDENCE CLOSURE

A tamper evidence closure is provided for engaging with a finish so as to seal contents within the interior of a container. The tamper evidence closure comprises interior threads configured to engage with threads of a finish. A tamper evidence portion is disposed around the perimeter of a lower portion. Recesses are configured to receive and fixate thread ends disposed on the finish so as to prevent further rotation of the tamper evidence portion and configured to be outwardly flexed by the finish. Each of tamper evidence flaps includes a ramp that terminates at a catching surface that is configured to be contacted by a truncated thread end of the finish during loosening of the closure by an end-user. The tamper evidence band on the finish and the flaps are configured to remain in absence of the finish to indicate that the tamper evidence closure has been previously loosened.

The outer surface of the first plug interfaces against the inner surface of the container inlet, the bottom surface of the second plug interfaces against the top surface of the container inlet, and the inner surface of the third plug interfaces against the outer surface of the container inlet. The second and third plugs have thinner and thicker arcs, the thinner arcs being configured to more easily relieve internal pressure from the container. The bottom of the closure includes an improved design for a J-band in which the J-band has a width that increases as the J-band extends from the tamper band.

Synthetic resin container closure

A closure includes: a body having a skirt wall in which an internal thread is formed; and a cylindrical tamper evident bottom portion which is connected to the skirt wall via a plurality of breakable bridge portions, and in which an engaging pieces to be engaged with an engaging jaw portion is disposed on an inner peripheral surface of the tamper evident bottom portion. A protruding piece protruding downward is disposed on the skirt wall of the body. An unbroken connecting piece is disposed to connect the skirt wall of the body and the tamper evident bottom portion and to allow the body to be moved upward with respect to the tamper evident bottom portion. An extending portion is formed at an engaging piece serving as the engaging pieces at least in an angle region where the protruding piece is present.

INJECTION MOLDED POLYMERIC BIODEGRADABLE CONTAINER

A biodegradable container including a unitary polymeric body element having a top portion and a cylindrical body portion. The top portion has a cylindrical neck wherein the cylindrical neck defines an inner surface and an outer surface. The container further includes a polymeric bottom element welded to the cylindrical body portion of the unitary polymeric body element. A polymeric cap defines an internal rim configured to be received by the inner surface of the cylindrical neck. The polymeric cap includes an external cover having an interior surface which may be tapered so that the outer surface of the cylindrical neck and the interior surface of the external cover form an inner seal. The interior surface of the external cover may also form an outer seal with the outer surface of the cylindrical neck when the polymeric cap is in a closed position.

Container lid having oxygen shielding properties

An oxygen-shielding container lid according to the present invention comprises a high density polyethylene cap shell 1 having a skirt section 7 and a top plate section 5 provided with an inner ring 9 for intimate contact with an inner surface of a container mouth; and an in-shell molded body 3 provided in a portion of an inner surface of the top plate section which is surrounded with the inner ring 9. The in-shell molded body 3 is composed of a primary molded body 3a which has been formed by in-shell molding on the inner surface of the top plate section and which has an oxygen shielding function; and a secondary molded body 3b which has been formed on the primary molded body 3a by in-shell molding so as to cover the primary molded body 3a and to be fused and fixed to the inner surface of the top plate section at the peripheral edge of the primary molded body. A resin composition used for formation of the secondary molded body 3b contains linear low density polyethylene, and has a melt flow rate at 190? C. of 1 to 10 g/10 minutes, a density of 0.900 to 0.920 g/cm.sup.3, and a nominal tensile strain at break, as defined by JIS K-6922-2, of 400% or more.

Apparatus and method(s) according to which a first container lid is sealingly engaged against a container body. Once so sealingly engaged, a first portion of the first container lid is detachable from, and re-attachable to, the container body. A security band remains attached to a neck of the container body when the first portion of the container lid is detached from the container body. In one or more embodiments, when detached from the container body, the first portion of the container lid remains connected to the security band via a tether. The tether is formed substantially within security band. The container body is adapted to be stacked onto a second container lid so that a first three-dimensional profile of the second container lid matingly receives a second three-dimensional profile of the container body. In one or more embodiments, the second container lid is identical to the first container lid.
