BEVERAGE INGREDIENT CARTRIDGE
A beverage ingredient cartridge for releasing beverage ingredients into a bottle to create a mixed beverage includes a body defining a liquid-ingredient chamber, a cap defining a solid-ingredient chamber, and an opening mechanism disposed on the cap. Upon a force applied to the beverage ingredient cartridge, a piercer of the bottle drives through the dispensing end of the cartridge, causing teeth of the opening mechanism to tear through films sealing the liquid-ingredient chamber and solid-ingredient chamber. This mixes contents of the liquid-ingredient chamber with contents of the solid-ingredient chamber and releases the mixed contents from the beverage ingredient cartridge into a bottle below that is filled with a liquid, creating a mixed beverage.
CONTAINER
A container (210) for holding granular or powdered material and formed by a top wall (212), a bottom wall (214), a front wall (216), a rear wall (218), a first side wall (220), and a second side wall (222). A rotatably removable lid (D) is interiorly mounted with a scoop (32) and is pivotally hinged to a collar (300) that includes a sealing gasket (330). The collar (300) mounts to the walls of the container (210). A sealing wall 240 of the lid (D) cooperates with the gasket 300 to prevent the contents from spilling. The container (210) incorporates powder control features, a container wall junction (50) preferred geometry and congruent scoop (32) enabling convenient access to the contents, a tolerance variation accommodating and strength improving, J-shaped collar (300) and interlocking indentations (290) and flex clips (310), and a pressure controlling portion (350) that prevents unwanted deformation due to pressure differentials.
Medicine Container Cover
A cover for a medicine container is provided. The cover contains a deactivating material within it which can, upon release into a medicine container, deactivate and/or destroy a medicine within the container. The cover may have an automated release mechanism which controls release of the deactivating material into the medicine container.
Fluid receptacles
A receptacle for minimizing evaporation of a fluid includes a single-piece body, a fluid-tight seal, a penetrable septum, and a lid coupled to the body. The body includes a first chamber having a first opening. The fluid-tight seal is affixed to a surface of the body that defines the first opening. The fluid-tight seal covers the first opening and is frangible. The septum covers the first opening and the fluid-tight seal. The lid has an opening axially aligned with the first opening. The septum comprises slits forming flaps The first chamber can be the only chamber containing a fluid, or the single-piece body may also include another chamber containing the fluid. The other chamber can be in fluid communication with the first chamber via a conduit. The fluid-tight seal can also cover the opening of the second chamber.
IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO PACKAGING
The invention provides a sealed pack which pack comprises a container and a lid wherein the container has an internal tamper-evident seal and the lid has an external tamper-evident seal; wherein the internal seal is arranged between the container and the lid; and wherein the lid is formed from a resilient material such that it protects the container. In one embodiment, the invention provides a pack of surgical instruments for use in a pre-determined surgical intervention which pack comprises one or more sterilised surgical instruments suitable for use in the pre-determined surgical intervention and a tray for receiving the one or more sterilised surgical instruments wherein the pack is sealed by at least two seals.
PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH TAMPER-EVIDENT CLOSING SYSTEM
A container with a tamper-evident closing system is disclosed. A linker may connect a bottom lip extending from a storage area of the container and a top lip extending from the lid. A perforated region positioned between the linker and the bottom lip is severed upon application of pressure by a user's hand so as to open the tamper-evident closing system. The linker may include a tab that extends down from the linker when the container is in the closed position and is moved up by the user so as to first open the container. The lower lip may include a cutout region and designed to receive a finger of the user when in the closed position. The container may also include a scoring positioned between the linker and the top lip, and this scoring may facilitate bending of the linker in a vertical position.
Blending appliance
A blending appliance in accordance with the principals of the present invention includes a linear motor drive comprising a magnet structure secured to a reaction mass and a coil structure secured to a shaker platen, the shaker platen adapted to secure a blending cup. A third mass is secured to the reaction mass via at least one biasing member. A ground is secured to the third mass via at least one biasing member. The shaker platen is secured to the reaction mass via at least one biasing member. The magnet structure and coil structure impart a force to the reaction mass and the shaker platen, which force is driven by the biasing members and the masses of the shaker platen, the reaction mass, and the third mass into resonance, thereby maximizing payload amplitude, minimizing forces transmitted to ground, and minimizing driver amplitude. The smoothie blending cup comprising structure to generate at least two forces applied upon the smoothie ingredients, the forces selected from the group consisting of pulverizing force, shear force, rotational-kinetic energy force, radial-kinetic energy force, and combinations thereof. The smoothie blending cup and cap can be sealed with the beverage ingredients contained therein at the point of manufacture.
Tamper-evident thermoformed packaging
A package having a lid seated on a base where the edge of the seated lid is generally inaccessible, and where the edge is made accessible by a movement of a tamper-evident tab. The base and lid are configured so that opening of the tamper-evident tab locks the tab in the opened position. The inner edge of the tamper-evident tab is joined to the base by a hinge. The tamper-evident tab includes a protrusion that extends inwardly beyond the hinge. The lid includes a retention feature overlying the tamper-evident tab. The protrusion interacts with the retention feature to provide an audible indication when the tamper-evident tab is opened and to retain the tamper-evident tab in the opened position. The protrusion may be configured to lift the lid when the tamper-evident tab is in the opened position.
Medicine container cover
A cover for a medicine container is provided. The cover contains a deactivating material within it which can, upon release into a medicine container, deactivate and/or destroy a medicine within the container. The cover may have an automated release mechanism which controls release of the deactivating material into the medicine container.
EXPANDABLE POLYLACTIC ACID-BASED THERMAL PACKAGING AND METHODS THEREOF
Molded foam articles in the form of containers are provided. The containers have at least two portions formed from polylactic acid-based molded bead foam and joined together using a heat-seal. The at least two portions are tailor-made to have a specific size and shape suitable for thermally sensitive commodities and may be customized based on the intended destination for the commodities and potential changes in weather in route. The containers may include one or more stand-offs for providing additional thermal energy protection, further enhancing the customizability of the containers. The containers may be formed from a single, flat foam panel that is cut and formed into a container on site, dramatically increasing the versatility of the container and reducing the carbon footprint associated with the container.
