The invention relates to a lid for a container, in particular for a can, comprising: a lid surface (110) with a first opening (115) passing through the lid surface; an inner element (120), which is arranged on an inner side of the lid surface and has a ventilating opening (125), which passes through the inner element and is aligned with the first opening; an actuating element (130), which is arranged on an outer side of the lid surface and is formed preferably from plastics material, wherein the actuating element has a first (141) and a second (142) articulation region, said regions subdividing the actuating element into a first (131), a second (132) and a third (133) portion, and the second portion is arranged between the first and the third portions; wherein the first portion of the actuating element is arranged in abutment against the lid surface; the second portion of the actuating element can be pivoted relative to the first portion about the first articulation region and the second portion has a closing element, in particular a bung (135), for closing the ventilating opening; the third portion of the actuating element can be pivoted relative to the second portion about the second articulation region and the third portion has a first coupling element (161); and the inner element has a second coupling element (162), which can be coupled to the first coupling element.

A substantially moisture tight container and lid assembly for storing and packaging moisture-sensitive items comprising an assembly with a container and a lid, the lid is attached by a hinge to an upper housing portion of the container, the lid includes a lip seal member that depends downwardly from the lid, the lip seal member is configured to abut at least a portion of the interior side of the container when the lid is in the closed position resulting in a substantially moisture tight seal between the lid and the lid, and the container assembly further comprising a base portion and an upper housing portion, the upper housing portion is capable of being snap-fit into the base portion by employing a lip seal mechanism to form a substantially moisture-tight seal.

The invention relates to a tear-off lid made of metal sheet which has a central lid plane and, within that, a breakout portion, as well as a grip tab made of metal sheet that can be swiveled about a swivel axis extending at least approximately perpendicular to the lid plane and that has an opener portion on one side of the swivel axis and a grip portion on the opposing side of the swivel axis. The grip portion is shaped such that, upon opening the breakout portion, it can be swiveled over an opening created thereby and enclosed by an outer contour and can tightly seal the opening. The metal sheet that forms the grip portion has apertures, and an elastomer seal is provided on a bottom side of the grip portion facing toward the lid plane that is connected in a form-fitting manner to the grip portion and extends through the apertures.

The invention relates to a tear-off lid made of metal sheet which has a central lid plane and, within that, a breakout portion, as well as a grip tab made of metal sheet that can be swiveled about a swivel axis extending at least approximately perpendicular to the lid plane and that has an opener portion on one side of the swivel axis and a grip portion on the opposing side of the swivel axis. The grip portion is shaped such that, upon opening the breakout portion, it can be swiveled over an opening created thereby and enclosed by an outer contour and can tightly seal the opening. A lid includes: a brim sealing channel at a periphery of the lid; an outer sipping sidewall positioned within a circumference of the brim sealing channel and extending above the brim sealing channel; a sipping topwall adjacent to the outer sipping sidewall; a sipping port in the sipping topwall; and a central recess within the circumference of the brim sealing channel and proximate to the sipping topwall, wherein the central recess has an overhang and a bottomwall; and a rotatable closure tab includes: a central portion; a flanged-shaped structure at a first side of the central portion; a tab sidewall supported by the flanged-shaped structure; a tab topwall extending outwardly from the tab sidewall and away from the flanged-shaped structure; a sealing depression in the tab topwall; and a retention rim extending radially from the central portion and positioned between the overhang and bottomwall of the central recess.

There is provided a container having a bottom shell and a top cover configured for partial rotation with respect to each other. In its closed configuration the container maintains the items in an interior holding region, while in the open configuration the container exposes a section that opens to the interior holding region and which permits the items to be dispensed by the user.

A lid for a beverage container can include a cover member configured to releasably engage the opening of a beverage container. The cover member can include an aroma aperture defined through a portion thereof, the aroma aperture sized and shaped to receive the nose of a user when the lid is engaged with the opening of the beverage container and the user drinks a beverage contained in the beverage container through the lid. The cover member can include a mounting portion and a canopy portion coupled to the mounting portion. The canopy portion can be contoured to cover a portion of the nose and direct aroma vapors evolved from the beverage to the nose when the nose is received in the aroma aperture while a user drinks from the beverage container. Also disclosed are beverage containers for enhancing the aroma of a liquid foodstuff contained therein, the containers comprising a body portion adapted to be held in the hand of a user, an upwardly convex canopy portion coupled to a rim of the body portion, and an aroma aperture defined though a portion of the canopy portion, the aroma aperture sized and shaped to receive the nose of a user when the user drinks a liquid foodstuff contained in the body portion through the aperture.
