Toning garment with modular resistance unit docking platforms

Disclosed is a technical training garment configured for use with modular, interchangeable electronics and resistance modules. The garment provides resistance to movement throughout an angular range of motion and tracks biomechanical parameters such as stride length, stride rate, angular velocity and incremental power expended by the wearer. The garment may be low profile, and worn by a wearer as a primary garment or beneath or over conventional clothing. Alternatively, the device may be worn as a supplemental training tool during conventional training protocols.

Dynamic proprioception

A wearable device such as a garment is disclosed, having at least one resistance element at a motion segment such as a hip or knee. The garment includes at least one sensor, for sensing a parameter. Electronics are provided for processing the sensed parameter, and for providing feedback. Feedback may be in the form of proprioceptive tactile or audible feedback, or in the form of an adjustment of a performance parameter of the wearable device. In one implementation, resistance to movement of the wearer is adjusted up or down in response to changes in power output by the wearer.

Exercise systems that include self-coupling weight pods that couple with one another to form weight clusters that a user can use in performing various body movements, such as exercise and conditioning movements. Each weight pod typically has a calibrated weight so that the user may know the amount of weight they are using. Each weight pod includes one or more coupling features that allow that weight pod to couple to one or more other weight pods and/or to an accessory, such as a strap. In some embodiments, each weight pod is soft so as to inhibit injury to a user of another close by the user. The weight pods can be used with one or more accessories, such as a strap, a bell bag that emulates a kettle bell, and a rucksack that can be configured to be a multifunctional component of an overall exercise system, among others.

System for sensor-based objective determination

The present disclosure is directed to a system for sensor-based objective determination. In general, sensor data may be used to render objective determinations that were not previously possible due to the unavoidable subjectivity of human-based officiating systems. For example, at least one device may be configured to make objective determinations during the course of a sporting event. Data collection circuitry may receive data from sensor devices coupled to players, equipment, playing surfaces, etc. Data analysis circuitry may categorize the data and input the data into a model to determine if an infraction occurred. For example, categorization may involve determining a type of infraction that may have occurred based on the sensor data. The model may then be selected based on the type of infraction, the model being developed utilizing prior sensor data, rules for the sporting event, etc. Output circuitry may generate a notification based on the infraction determination.

In an illustrative embodiment, a wearable system for encoding and a method for comparing a tacit motion is provided including at least one base pod, each base pod having a processor and at least one first sensor in communication with the processor, the at least first sensor configured to sense a first motion of a wearer; one or more distributed modules, each distributed module including at least one second sensor for sensing a second motion of the wearer, each second sensor configured to be in communication with the processor of the base pod and to be positioned at a distinct location relative to a body and/or joint; and where each sensor is positioned at a different distinct location relative to a body and/or joint, where coordinated data from each sensor is configured to be used for detecting a tacit motion.

DYNAMIC PROPRIOCEPTION

A wearable device such as a garment is disclosed, having at least one sensor, for sensing a parameter. Electronics are provided for processing the sensed parameter, and for providing feedback. Feedback may be in the form of proprioceptive tactile or audible feedback, or in the form of an adjustment of a performance parameter of the wearable device. In one implementation, the processor is configured to activate an effector to provide feedback to the wearer to make a body position correction to bring the position into alignment with predetermined body position reference data.
