Water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol blend film, related methods, and related articles

Disclosed herein are water-soluble films including a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) resin blend and optionally one or more additional components such as plasticizers, fillers, surfactants, and other additives. Also disclosed herein are articles including the water-soluble film and containing a composition such as a household care composition. The PVOH resin blend includes a PVOH copolymer including one or more types of anionic monomer units such as a PVOH terpolymer and a PVOH polymer such as a partially or completely hydrolyzed PVOH homopolymer. When the PVOH copolymer and PVOH polymer are blended in particular proportions and/or selected with regard to various criteria related to the 4% solution viscosity of one or both of the PVOH polymer(s) and PVOH copolymer(s), the resulting water-soluble film formed from the PVOH resin blend exhibits substantially improved aqueous dissolution properties.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY PACKAGING AND DISPENSING FOOD PRODUCTS
20210068407 · 2021-03-11 ·

A food product gathering and dispensing system is disclosed. The food product is generally a flat disc shaped article dispensed onto a consumable strip of food product conveyer material. The food product is fed to single, or series related, spools that wind up the consumable conveyer material and food product into a removable roll or stack. The roll or stack is placed into a dispenser pack, optionally subject to further environmental treatment, and refrigeration. The pack is then installed within a refrigerated dispenser system where the food product and consumable material are collectively unwound and/or separated, as the food product is fed into a processing system, i.e., a cooking device. The consumable conveyer material is collected and separately discarded.

TACK WELDED FIN SEAL

Systems and methods of a container having a tack welded fin seal are disclosed. The container may include a film, a tack weld joining a first outer portion of a first edge and a second outer portion of the first edge, and a fin seal joining a first inner portion of the first edge of the film and a second inner portion of a second edge of the film. The container may include a faceplate integrally molded to an outer layer of a first end portion of the film. The faceplate may include substantially the same composition as an outer layer of the first end portion, such that no distinct layers are formed between the faceplate and the film. The tack weld may be formed at a tack welding system, and the fin seal may be formed at a fin sealing system having a mandrel.

Methods of packaging thin metal films to maintain their physical characteristics

The present disclosure is directed to the packaging of metal thin films deposited on polymeric substrates. The packaging method prevents deleterious change of surface energy/water contact angle as a function of time for metal thin films such as rolls, coils, sheets or strips of sputtered or vacuum deposited metal thin films. Methods and kits directed toward a unique packaging and storage scheme are also disclosed. This results in maintenance of the metal film's hydrophilicity and surface energy for extended periods of time.
