GAS DISCHARGE VALVE FOR PACKAGING MATERIAL
20220204238 · 2022-06-30 ·

Proposed is a gas discharge valve for a packaging material, the gas discharge valve being attached on an upper surface of a packing material in a manner that covers a through-hole formed in one side of the packing material and being configured to discharge to the outside thereof only gas within the packing material, the gas discharge valve including: a high-adhesiveness layer attached to an external surface of the packing material and adhered to a portion of the external surface in the vicinity of the through-hole; and a low-adhesiveness layer formed inside the high-adhesiveness layer and adhered to cover a top opening of the through-hole, where, when gas occurs within the packing material, the low-adhesiveness layer is inflated by pressure, a portion thereof is raised, and the gas is discharged, and when the pressure is released, the low-adhesiveness layer seals the through-hole, thereby blocking introduction of outside air.

Pressure relief valve with wetting fluid reservoirs
11352183 · 2022-06-07 · ·

One-way pressure relief valves with wetting fluid reservoirs are disclosed. Valves of the types described herein may be applied to a product package, for example a package containing dry roasted coffee, to allow gas to escape from the package while preventing entry of ambient air into the package. A wetting fluid is provided within the valve to facilitate formation of the seal blocking entry of ambient air through the valve and into the product package. The wetting fluid reservoirs hold wetting fluid to limit or prevent leakage of the wetting fluid from the valve providing benefits such as improved application of the valves to the packages, improved retention of the valves to the packages, and appearance improvements resulting from avoidance of leakage of wetting fluid onto the valve and the package to which the valve is attached.

Sous Vide Mylar Bags
20230264884 · 2023-08-24 ·

A novel form of Mylar bag with air valve is disclosed. The bag provides air valve so air can be removed by using simple air pump. The bag assembly is easy to use and reduces the nuisance of using various types of oxygen absorbers or any other similar supplies. The assembly allows safe retention of food while providing additional layers of protection from moisture, light, and odor.

Valve assembly including low force umbrella valve insertion

A valve assembly is provided. The valve assembly includes a body having an annular valve seat. A central ring is concentric with the annular valve seat, and a plurality of vanes extend radially between the central ring and the annular valve seat. A receiver is defined by an axial through hole in the central ring and an annular outer lip adjacent the through hole. The outer lip includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced notches disposed in an inner perimeter of the lip. The assembly also includes an umbrella valve having a flexible, disk-shaped cap and an elongated stem extending axially from a center of the cap. The stem has an enlarged portion proximate a terminal end that is received through the outer lip and into the receiver to secure the umbrella valve in the central ring. A fuel reservoir and a method of making the valve assembly are also provided.

CONTAINER SEAL OVER-PRESSURE VENT MECHANISM

A container assembly includes a vessel and a lid removably coupled to the vessel. The lid includes a circumferential rim at an interface with the vessel, wherein the rim is separated from the vessel by a gap, wherein the gap is open to the atmosphere outside the container. The container includes a gasket disposed at a sealing position between the lid and the vessel to seal a reservoir of the vessel from the gap. The rim includes a recess extending circumferentially along a first portion of the rim. The recess forms a portion of the gap and defines a venting zone extending circumferentially along the first portion of the rim. In response to the internal reservoir of the vessel reaching a threshold pressure, a portion of the gasket moves from the sealing position through the gap such that fluid held in the reservoir is vented past the gasket through the venting zone to reduce the pressure of the reservoir.

PACKAGING FOR OUTGASSING AND/OR MATURING FOODS, IN PARTICULAR FOR ROASTED COFFEE AND/OR COFFEE BEANS
20220135306 · 2022-05-05 · ·

The invention relates to a package for outgassing foods and/or maturing foods, in particular roasted coffee and/or coffee beans, comprising a bag for storing the food, which includes a film from which the bag is formed, wherein a valve is provided to enable a discharge of gas from the package bag to the outside in the event of overpressure in the package and to reduce the diffusion-related gas exchange in the case of comparable and/or equal pressure conditions in and/or outside the package bag. It is characterized in that the valve is formed as a microperforation in the film having at least one or two holes of the size of 750 μm.sup.2 to 40 000 μm.sup.2, preferably of 390 μm.sup.2 to 20 000 μm.sup.2, particularly preferably 70 μm.sup.2 to 16 000 μm.sup.2 and/or each having the diameter of 10-70 μm, preferably 20-60 μm, particularly preferably 30 μm.
