Systems and methods for tracking sports balls configured with electronic components
Systems and methods for tracking a sports ball assembly in real time during a sporting event are disclosed. A structure of the sports ball assembly is also disclosed. The sports ball assembly comprises at least one electronic circuit embedded or attached to a sports ball. The sports ball assembly is in network communication with a server processor via at least two receivers within a sports arena. The sports ball assembly generates and transmits UWB data packets comprising movement-related data for the sports ball assembly in real time at a predetermined rate. The at least two receivers receive the UWB data packets and transmit to the server processor with time stamps. The server processor is operable to determine a movement of the sports ball assembly based on the UWB data packets and the time stamps received from the at least two receivers.
System for downing a ball carrier and for tackle training
A tackle training system defines a frame configured for attachment to a player's body. The frame has an upper portion, a lower portion, and a center portion extending therebetween. The upper portion defines at least one attachment structure extending downwardly toward the lower portion, and the lower portion defines at least one attachment structure extending upwardly toward the upper portion generally vertically aligned with the attachment structure of the upper portion. The opposing attachment structures are for contacting opposing ends of a bar so as to removably attach and extend the bar between the upper and lower portions. The attachment structures of the frame limit movement of the removable bar generally to that of the frame and allow release of the removable bar from the frame when a force that overcomes an attachment force provided by the attachment structures is applied to the removable bar.
Training sports ball
A training ball system comprising a training ball including a receiver for receiving a wireless signal from a remote location, the training ball further comprising a vibration module for providing a sensory indication to a user carrying the training ball; an input device physically separate from the training ball including a transmitter for enabling transmission of a wireless signal to the receiver; where the receiver responds to receiving a wireless signal from the input device to trigger vibration of the motor immediately upon receipt of the wireless signal.
Tackling Apparatus
An apparatus includes a pair of support members, a cable, a rolling mechanism and a tackling bag. The pair of support members are fixedly coupled to a surface. The cable is attached to and extends between the pair of support members. The rolling mechanism is connected to the cable and configured to traverse the rod from a first end of the rod toward a second end of the rod. The tackling bag is attached to the rolling mechanism and configured to be propelled from one of the pair of support members toward the other of the pair of support members. The rolling mechanism is permitted to move relative to the cable when a force is applied to the tackling bag.
TRACKING SYSTEM
A system simultaneously tracks multiple objects. All or a subset of the objects includes a wireless receiver and a transmitter for providing an output. The system includes one or more wireless transmitters that send commands to the wireless receivers of the multiple objects instructing different subsets of the multiple objects to output (via their respective transmitter) at different times. The system also includes object sensors that receive output from the transmitters of the multiple objects and a computer system in communication with the object sensors. The computer system calculates locations of the multiple objects based on the sensed output from the multiple objects.
Mobile training device and control system
A mobile device and system which simulates human motion. The device includes a base with a drive system for providing motion to the device. A receiver is provided which controls the drive system the receiver receives wireless control signals. Pads and a self-stabilizing component are provided on the device. The device accurately mimics the unpredictable motion of a human motion to provide a safer alternative to live interaction to increase participant safety and decrease the incidence of injuries during practice or drill sessions. The system includes at least one mobile device. The mobile device includes: a base having a drive system for providing motion to the device; a receiver which controls the drive system the receiver receives wireless control signals; and self-stabilizing component provided on the device. The system also includes a transmitter for transmitting the control signals to the receiver.
PROTECTIVE FOAM MATERIAL AND PADS
A protective foam material and pads are disclosed herein. The material is a rounded foam pellet having a hole through the center of the pellet. The pellets may be arranged and interconnected to form a pad. These pads may be applied to persons, animals, or other objects for protective functions.
AMERICAN-STYLE FOOTBALL
An American-style football configured for direct contact with a user's hands. The football includes an inflatable prolate spheroidal shaped bladder, at least first, second, third and fourth cover panels collectively positioned over the bladder, and a lacing coupled to the first and fourth cover panels. The cover panels are formed of a natural leather and include a pebbled texture. Each of the first, second, third and fourth cover panels have an outer surface that defines cover panel outer surface areas. At least one of the cover panels includes a prep gauge portion and a non-prep gauge portion. The prep gauge portion extends over at least 5 percent, and less than 80 percent, of the outer surface area of the at least one of the cover panels. The non-prep gauge portion has a first color and the prep gauge portion has a second color that is darker than the first color.
Athletic Training System and Method
An athletic training system (200) has a data recording system (202) and a data engine (204). The data recording system (202) is configured to record an athletic competition event. The event may have a first team of players competing against a second team of players. The data engine (204) is configured to receive data associated with the recorded athletic competition event. The data engine (204) processes the data and displays the data as a replay of the event in animated form.
Athleticism rating and performance measuring system
A universal athleticism rating system and related athletic performance measuring systems for accurately detecting and recording athletic performance are disclosed. The athleticism rating system evaluates individual athletes against a common, standardized, set of athletic performance tests. Each athlete performs the athletic tests and his or her scores in the individual tests are entered into a standardized calculation to produce a single athletic performance score. The related performance measuring system is preferably a timing system that ensures quick, easy, and accurate collection of athletic event timing related data without the need for the athlete to wear any special detection devices or the like. In a preferred embodiment, the performance measuring system integrates with the rating system to provide seamless athletic data collection and rating of athletes.
