Athletic performance monitoring systems and methods in a team sports environment
Systems and methods for sensing and monitoring various athletic performance metrics, e.g., during the course of a game, a practice, a training session, training drills, and the like, are described. These systems and methods can provide useful metrics for players and coaches relating to athletic performances in various sports, including various team sports.
SPORTS GARMENTS WITH ENHANCED VISUAL AND/OR MOISTURE MANAGEMENT PROPERTIES
A garment, such as a sports uniform, may provide visibility zones and/or flicker zones to enhance the ability of teammates to perceive the wearer. Different zones on a garment may have different sets of visual properties that may contrast with one another and/or a visual background. A denier differential between layers of a garment may facilitate moisture transport across the layers of the garment. Flicker zones may be discrete from or combined with visibility zones. One or more zones of a garment may also be substantially non-reflective at wavelengths associated with the visual background encountered while wearing the garment.
BALL FORMED FROM PANELS WITH COMPRESSED EDGES
A sport ball comprising having a plurality of panels, each of the panels having an uncompressed center thickness and a compressed outer edge surrounding the uncompressed center thickness, the panels being stitched together along the respective compressed outer edges to form a shape, an inner bladder within said shape. The sport ball of claim 1, wherein said compressed outer edge is compressed by a factor of between one-quarter and three-quarters of said uncompressed center thickness. The compressed outer edge may be compressed approximately one-half of the uncompressed center thickness. The compressed outer edge may be compressed a width approximately equal to the uncompressed center thickness. Methods of forming the sport ball are also disclosed.

A penalty allocation system includes a processing circuit configured to receive first data from a first player-worn sensor regarding a first player involved in an impact, receive second data from a second player-worn sensor regarding a second player involved in the impact, identify one of the first player and the second player as an at-fault player in connection with the impact based on the first data and the second data, and determine a penalty for the at-fault player based on the first data and the second data.
Athletic training system and method
An athletic training system has a data recording system and a data engine. The data recording system is configured to record an athletic competition event. The event may have a first team of players competing against a second team of players. The data engine is configured to receive data associated with the recorded athletic competition event. The data engine processes the data and displays the data as a replay of the event in animated form.
Apparatus for an inflatable sports ball
An apparatus for permitting electrical connection between the exterior of an inflatable sports ball and electronics located inside the inflatable sports ball is provided. The apparatus comprises a support member, the support member having separate first and second through-holes provided therein for respectively connecting the exterior of the inflatable sports ball with the interior of the inflatable sports ball. An electrical connection port is located in the first through-hole of the support member for permitting an electrical connection to be made through the first through-hole. An air valve is located in the second through-hole of the support member, the air valve comprising an aperture for selective communication of air.
SMART DEVICE
An Internet of Thing (IoT) device includes a camera coupled to a processor; and a wireless transceiver coupled to the processor. Blockchain smart contracts can be used with the device to facilitate secure operation.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING SPORTS BALLS CONFIGURED WITH ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS
Systems and methods for tracking a sports ball assembly in real time during a sporting event are disclosed. A structure of the sports ball assembly is also disclosed. The sports ball assembly comprises at least one electronic circuit embedded or attached to a sports ball. The sports ball assembly is in network communication with a server processor via at least two receivers within a sports arena. The sports ball assembly generates and transmits UWB data packets comprising movement-related data for the sports ball assembly in real time at a predetermined rate. The at least two receivers receive the UWB data packets and transmit to the server processor with time stamps. The server processor is operable to determine a movement of the sports ball assembly based on the UWB data packets and the time stamps received from the at least two receivers.
