Protective Packaging and Delivery
A system for delivery of fragile payloads involves a structure having an approximately spherical aspect composed of rigid struts and flexible tendons joining ends of struts, the flexible tendons in tension placing the struts in compression, the structure having a hollow interior, and one or more fragile items wrapped in a shock-absorbing bio-degradable material such that no fragile item contacts another, forming a payload bundle, the payload bundle joined by fibrous filaments suspending the payload within the structure. The structure carrying the payload bundle is carried to a destination by an aerial vehicle and dropped from a height to the ground, where the structure rebounds and rolls, dissipating kinetic energy gained in falling, preventing the payload bundle from striking ground surface.

Packing material and method of manufacturing the packing material
A packing material including a plurality of discrete cushioning elements and methods for making the same. The discrete cushioning elements may be cellulosic cushioning elements. A flexible linkage may connect the plurality of discrete cushioning elements in the packing material. The packing material may also include a bottom cellulosic sheet connected to a top cellulosic sheet with the plurality of cellulosic cushioning elements positioned between the top cellulosic sheet and the bottom cellulosic sheet. The packing material may also be a molded packing material that includes bonds comprising adhesive and cellulosic fibers. The adhesive and cellulosic fibers of the bonds may be dispersed between the folds of each of the cellulosic cushioning elements.
SHIPPING MAILER
A shipping mailer includes a main body having a first wall and a second wall that are folded together and sealed along sealed side edge portions of the main body. The shipping mailer has a closed first end portion and a second end portion having an opening sealable by a closure. The main body is made of a single-face corrugated material including a liner layer and a fluted layer. The main body includes a center fold line at the closed first end portion from which the first and second walls extend. The fluted layer includes a plurality of flutes extending parallel to the center fold line, and flutes of the first wall nest with flutes of the second wall. The fluted layer includes a plurality of preformed longitudinal fold lines formed in the flutes, and the preformed longitudinal fold lines are offset inwardly from the sealed side edge portions.

AN EMBOSSED WRAPPING MATERIAL
An embossed wrapping material for protectively cushioning an article comprises a plurality of embossed protrusions, wherein the plurality of embossed protrusions comprises first protrusions, extending in a first direction and second protrusions extending in a second direction, the second direction being opposite to the first direction. At least regionally the embossed wrapping material comprises a plurality of first creases created during or prior to embossing the protrusions.

EXPANDABLE PADDED MAILER
A padded mailer includes a pouch formed by front and rear sheets, each including a bottom edge, a top edge, and opposing side edges. The sheets are connected along their bottom edges and each of their side edges to define an interior space. The top edges of the sheets are unconnected to form an opening into the interior space. The padded mailer also includes a liner disposed in the interior space, including an expandable sheet having a bottom edge, a top edge, and opposing side edges. The bottom edge of the expandable sheet is secured adjacent the bottom edges of the front and rear sheets, and the top edge and the side edges of the expandable sheet are unsecured to the front and rear sheets. Pulling the top edge of the expandable sheet relative to the pouch causes the expandable sheet to expand and increase the thickness of the liner.
