Flexible package and method of manufacture
Package having a flexible inner sheet having a first surface and a second surface. The package has an article reservoir for accepting an article to be shipped. The expansion chambers can be inflated or otherwise expanded to provide structure to the package and to protect the article in the article reservoir. The inner sheet of the package includes a shrinkable material that can be activated to immobilize articles disposed in the article reservoir.

Packaging bag
The packaging bag is a packaging bag made of a laminate formed in a bag shape, the laminate being composed of a paper substrate, a foamed sheet made of polyolefin resin laminated on an inner side relative to the paper substrate, and a sealant layer laminated on an inner side relative to the foamed sheet, which are laminated with the sealant layer facing inward. In the packaging bag, a thickness of the foamed sheet is in a range of 0.8 mm to 5.0 mm, an expansion ratio of the foamed sheet is in a range of 15 to 50 times, and a bending stiffness of the paper substrate in an MD direction is in a range of 150 mN to 700 mN.

Inflation bag with protective base
An inflation bag with protective base is provided. Two outer films and two inner films are stacked with each other, and the stacked structure is heat sealed and inflated to form the inflation bag. The inflation bag includes two side surface walls and a bottom surface wall between the side surface walls and connected to bottoms of the side surface walls. The bottom surface wall includes bottom columns. Each bottom column has a first bottom column portion, a protection column portion, and a second column portion. A first heat-seal node is provided for attaching the outer films with the inner films, and the first bottom column portion is connected to the second bottom column portion. One or more second heat-seal nodes are provided on the protection column portion for attaching the outer films with the inner films, and the protection column portions are folded to form a protective base.
Inflation bag with protective base
An inflation bag with protective base is provided. Two outer films and two inner films are stacked with each other, and the stacked structure is heat sealed and inflated to form the inflation bag. The inflation bag includes two side surface walls and a bottom surface wall between the side surface walls and connected to bottoms of the side surface walls. The bottom surface wall includes bottom columns. Each bottom column has a first bottom column portion, a protection column portion, and a second column portion. A first heat-seal node is provided for attaching the outer films with the inner films, and the first bottom column portion is connected to the second bottom column portion. One or more second heat-seal nodes are provided on the protection column portion for attaching the outer films with the inner films, and the protection column portions are folded to form a protective base.
EXPANDED SLIT SHEET CUSHIONING PRODUCTS WITH NOVEL ALTERNATING EXPANSION PATTERNS
In the preferred embodiments, a paper cushioning product is provided that includes: a sheet of slit paper having a slit pattern, the slit pattern upon expansion forming cells that include land regions that are inclined with respect to a plane of an unexpanded sheet; the sheet of slit paper being configured such that expanding the sheet of slit paper with said slits produces land regions that have angles of inclination from the plane of the unexpanded sheet, with said land regions alternating on a row by row basis in forward and backward directions such that the slit pattern upon expansion includes an alternating cell opening pattern wherein each row opens in an opposite direction from an adjacent row. In preferred embodiments, the product further includes at least one of a) said sheet of slit paper is extensible paper that is extensible in a machine direction in a range of at least 3% and/or b) said sheet of slit paper includes slits configured such that upon expansion the slit sheet paper expands into an alternating row expansion pattern.
EXPANDED SLIT SHEET CUSHIONING PRODUCTS WITH NOVEL ALTERNATING EXPANSION PATTERNS

Inflatable cellular web with multiple inflatable panels
An inflatable web includes an inflation zone, a first inflatable panel in fluid communication with the inflation zone, and a second inflatable panel in fluid communication with the inflation zone. The first inflatable panel includes a first sheet juxtaposed on a second sheet. The first and second sheets are sealed together to form inflatable chambers. The second inflatable panel include a third sheet juxtaposed on a fourth sheet. The third and fourth sheets are sealed together to form inflatable chambers. The inflatable film is configured to be inflated by an inflation and sealing machine configured to direct gas into the inflatable chambers of the first and second inflatable panels via the inflation zone and to individually seal the inflatable chambers of the first and second inflatable panels.
Inflatable cellular web with multiple inflatable panels
An inflatable web includes an inflation zone, a first inflatable panel in fluid communication with the inflation zone, and a second inflatable panel in fluid communication with the inflation zone. The first inflatable panel includes a first sheet juxtaposed on a second sheet. The first and second sheets are sealed together to form inflatable chambers. The second inflatable panel include a third sheet juxtaposed on a fourth sheet. The third and fourth sheets are sealed together to form inflatable chambers. The inflatable film is configured to be inflated by an inflation and sealing machine configured to direct gas into the inflatable chambers of the first and second inflatable panels via the inflation zone and to individually seal the inflatable chambers of the first and second inflatable panels.
