Stretchable Protective Liners
A liner to prevent damage to a portion of a fragile item, including at least its rim, includes a stretchable u-shaped ring edge member into which the rim of a fragile item may be inserted, and which frictionally engages the rim by contacting both the inner and outer surface of the fragile item adjacent the rim. The liner, in another variation, also includes a fabric covering that may be removably attached to the edge member and which stretches to cover the outer surface of the fragile item along with the rim. The liner or portions thereof comprise a dishwasher safe material which may have a mesh structure, so the liner can be left on during washing.
Overbox packaging system
An overbox packaging system for a high aspect ratio inner box includes an outer box, at least four modular packaging inserts, and tape to seal the outer box closed. Four modular packaging inserts are adapted to a width of the high aspect ratio inner box by selective removal of zero or more first tear-away pieces and are adapted to a difference in a second dimension of the outer box in the inner box by selective removal of zero or more second tear-away pieces of at least two of the four modular packaging inserts. A second module of additional modular packaging inserts is removed, leaving a first module which is adapted to the width of the high aspect ratio inner box by selective removal of zero or more first tear-away pieces and placed in the outer box with its slot holding a section of the inner box.

CONTAINER APPARATUS
Disclosed is a container apparatus for shipping fragile items, such as beer and wine bottles. The container apparatus can include a housing and a cushioning member positioned within the interior of the housing. The housing can include first and second complementary sections that are releasably attached to each other by a plurality of complementary attachment members. The cushioning member can be made of a shock absorbing material and a bottle can be positioned within a cylindrical cavity formed in the cushioning member, which provides a barrier between the bottle and the housing that can absorb force from an impact to the housing thereby protecting the bottle from damage.
Packaging and Shipping Blocks for Flat-panel Products
Described herein are shipping blocks for packaging and shipping flat-panel products. The blocks have chamfered edges to allow the block to slide across uneven surfaces; slots and/or alignment tabs to secure the product to the block; and, walls that are configured to flex when pressure/stress is applied to the block.
INFLATABLE PACKAGING CUSHION
Disclosed herein are aspects of an inflatable packaging cushion. In one embodiment, the inflatable packaging cushion includes a body having at least one inflatable chamber. The body also includes a fluid port comprising an internal fluid passage that fluidly communicates with the at least one inflatable chamber such that the fluid port is configured to allow fluid to enter and exit the at least one inflatable chamber through the internal fluid passage for respective inflation and deflation of the at least one inflatable chamber. At least one elongate closure strip extends within the fluid passage of the fluid port. The at least one elongate closure strip is configured to be moved between a sealed position that closes the internal fluid passage and an unsealed position that opens the internal fluid passage.
INFLATABLE PACKAGING WITH OFFSET TEAR INITIATION FEATURES
An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes a first film and second film ply sealed together via a plurality of generally transverse seals. The transverse seals define first and second inflatable chambers. The inflatable chambers are inflatable with, and contain, a fluid. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially between the first and second inflatable chambers in a substantially transverse direction across the web and configured to facilitate separation of the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature that facilitates tearing of the web to separate the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear propagation line at least partially longitudinally offset from the tear initiation feature, and close enough to the tear initiation feature that force imparted to the web via the tear initiation feature will tear of the web through the tear propagation line.
INFLATABLE PACKAGING WITH TEAR INITIATION FEATURE
An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes first and second film plies sealed together via a plurality of generally transverse seals to define a first and second inflatable chambers and an inflation region. The chambers are inflatable with a fluid and operable to contain the fluid. The sealed plies have a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially transversely across the web between the first and second inflatable chambers and is configured to facilitate separation thereof. The separation region includes a tear propagation line extending transversely across at least a portion of the web with an end of the tear propagation line terminating proximal to the first longitudinal edge of the web. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature including edges spaced apart from one another longitudinally to form a permanent opening in the web.
Dunnage bag arrangement
The invention discloses a dunnage bag arrangement for securing loads, includes an inflatable dunnage bag having a gastight inflatable bladder; and a hanger member connected to the dunnage bag and adapted to being supported on top of loads and adapted to support the dunnage bag in a void between loads. The dunnage bag includes a reinforcing sleeve made of at least one material ply, the sleeve having a first opening and a second opening, and the sleeve being folded and sealed and/or stitched to close off at least one of the openings.
