POLYESTER FILM WITH CITRIC ACID-MODIFIED POLYVINYL AMINE
A composite barrier film has a base layer of polyester with a barrier layer modified polyvinyl amine (mPVA). The mPVA is polyvinyl alcohol/polyvinyl amine copolymer crosslinked with citric acid and an optional additional crosslinking agent such as epichlorohydrin. The barrier layer can be applied by deposition of a reactive aqueous solution onto the base layer, heating and drying to remove water and crosslink the reactants. Excellent barrier properties of the film are obtained by applying and crosslinking the barrier layer during the transverse stretching steps of a biaxial oriented polymer film continuous fabrication process. Superior barrier properties are achieved with transverse stretching by a factor of about 3-4.
Container for Keeping Fermented Food
The present invention relates to a container for keeping fermented food, having for example, a main body for accommodating fermented food in an interior space; a pressing plate coming into contact with the surface of the fermented food in the main body; and a cover for blocking the opening of inside of the main body; wherein the main body has a stepped part protruded inwards from the inner circumferential surface of a neck part at an upper end portion, and the pressing plate has a protruded rim provided to the periphery of the upper end portion thereof so as to be placed on the stepped part, a vertical section provided to the lower end of the protruded rim and having an outer circumferential surface coming into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the stepped part, and a round surface provided at the lower end of the vertical section and having a bottom surface part coming into contact with the surface of the fermented food.
System and method for freeze-drying and packaging
A system and method for protecting biological or other material from contamination through the steps of filling, freeze-drying, packaging, storing and use are disclosed. A system can include a flexible container, a membrane configured to transmit air or solvent vapor out of the flexible container, and a membrane frame supporting the membrane and engaged with at least one column member. The at least one column member can be configured to maintain the membrane and the membrane frame a spaced distance from one or more contents received within the flexible container. Upon application of a downward force, the at least one column member can assume a collapsed configuration. A method can include inserting a biological material, for example, into a flexible container, freeze-drying the biological material, moving the freeze-dried biological material to a portion of the flexible container that includes at least one port, and sealing the biological material within the portion.
ANIMAL FEED COVERS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION AND USE
Covers for sealing and/or bonding with an exposed surface of an animal feed within a container include a flexible film that conforms to the animal feed and a rigid or semi-rigid layer that allows the cover to be handled by an operator during placement of the cover over the animal feed composition while the composition is at elevated temperatures. The polymer film may include a heat-activated coating that establishes a bond with the animal feed when the feed is at elevated temperatures or when an external heat source is applied to the cover. The heat-activated coating may be flowable at a temperature of at least about 125 F. Upon placement of the cover over the animal feed, the film conforms to the exposed surface of the feed and the cover forms a seal with the animal feed as flowable coating reaches a flowable temperature.
Self air evacuating system
In combination with a container having predetermined shape, the improvement comprising an apparatus for evacuating air from the container and for sealing the container so as to prevent air from returning in order to better preserve contents of the container. The apparatus includes a lid member for insertion into such container, the lid member having each of a predetermined shape and a predetermined size and formed of a predetermined material and at least one rim member formed on an outer edge of the lid member for contacting an inside wall of the container. The at least one rim member being sufficiently thin so as conform to the inside walls of said container.
Expandable fluid preservation system and method for use
A fluid preservation device, for preserving a liquid within a container, which includes an elongated member with a proximal end and a distal end and an inner shaft and an outer shaft. The outer shaft and inner shaft are attached to an expandable sealing member. The expandable sealing member has an expanded state and a collapsed state and a state change mechanism attached to the proximal end of the elongated member to change the state of the expandable sealing member between the expanded state and the collapsed state. When the expandable sealing member is in the collapsed state, it can pass through an opening of a container and when the expandable sealing member is in the expanded state it is big enough to contact the inner surface of the container near the surface of the liquid.
Liquid-containing combination container, container set, and method of manufacturing liquid-containing container
A liquid-containing combination container includes a first container that contains a liquid, a second container that contains the first container and that has an oxygen barrier property, and an oxygen absorber that absorbs oxygen in the second container. The first container includes a container body that includes an opening portion and a stopper that closes the opening portion, the stopper has oxygen permeability.
The first container includes a container body that includes an opening portion and a stopper that closes the opening portion. the stopper has oxygen permeability.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT PACKAGING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT PACKAGING MATERIAL PRODUCTION
A material for the packaging is for agricultural products. A single continuous film that is composed of a plurality of packaging portions, which are detachable from each other through a rupture line, said packaging portion being divided into an initial portion and a final portion, the latter portion being provided with a non-permanent adhesive layer on one of its surfaces. A method of making the material.
Closure device and method for preserving oxidizable products
A closure device for a container to provide a combined protection of inert gas and oxygen scavenger methods. The closure device comprises a body, a fastening member, one or more plurality of protrusions, a blister, a hollow shaft, and a seal member. The closure device is removably coupled to an open end of the container through a fastening assembly. The fastening assembly includes at least one of friction fit, a snap fit, a screw fit, or any of a variety of fastening mechanisms. The closure device provides a combined protection of inert gas and oxygen scavenger methods. This is beneficial because it prevents nutritional and organoleptic degradation processes of wine through oxidation while aids to preserve the fruitier and fresher aromas and flavors of the wine. The closure device is designed to fit snugly over the neck of the bottle and create an airtight seal.
