A double-walled container apparatus 12 may have an upper lid 18 and/or a double-walled container apparatus 12 may have a lower lid 20.
Tray with removable insert
The invention comprises a container for food products that extrudate liquids comprising a tray and a bowed insert. The tray bottom wall has at least one raised area, at least one lower surface, and at least one sidewall. A plurality of flutes are disposed on the inner surface sidewall(s). A plurality of elevated portions extend upwardly from the bowed insert. The insert is secured within the tray. A reservoir is defined between the insert and the tray bottom wall. The elevated portions of the insert, the flutes, and the at least one raised area of the tray bottom define a plurality of channels.
Oxygen scavenging compositions, articles containing same, and methods of their use
The disclosure relates to transition metal compositions comprising a solid polymer carrier and a transition metal composition comprising cobalt for use in, for example, packing materials. Also disclosed are methods of making the compositions, articles prepared from the compositions, and methods of making the articles. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
PACKAGING MATERIALS
The use of a palladium-doped zeolite for the adsorption of volatile organic compounds is described wherein the zeolite has a CHA framework type and is polymer-bound. Such zeolites have been found to have particular utility as packaging materials for the adsorption of volatile organic compounds, such as those originating from organic matter.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL FILM SEALING
Described is an assembly (1) comprising a wall element (2), defining a circumferential bonding strip (3) running over the wall element, and a flexible flat film connected to the bonding strip with a continuous circumferential bonding (4), which wall element and film define two opposite walls (2a, 5a) of a chamber (5), characterized in that the wall element further comprises a base plane B defined by the wall element, at least two corner elements (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) positioned on a distance to one another, which extend substantially perpendicular with a height H (Ha, Hb, Hc, Hd) in the same direction from the base plane of the wall element, each corner element defining an angle A (Aa, Ab, Ac, Ad) of the chamber with an angle line which is substantially perpendicular to the base plane, strip sections (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d), each connecting two corner elements that define adjacent corners of the chamber to one another, the distance between the strip sections and the base plane being less than H, wherein the continuous circumferential bonding strip runs over the strip sections and over the corner elements and at least in the area of the corner elements at a distance from the base surface corresponding to height H (Ha, Hb, Hc, Hd), and wherein the outer contour of the film is shaped in such a way that the outer contour of the film corresponds to that of the circumferential bonding strip. A method for the production of such an assembly is also described.
IRRADIATED RESIN MOLDING
The invention provides a resin molding and a method of producing the same in which sterilizability thereof is secured and discoloration (yellowing) thereof is reduced even when the resin molding is radiation-irradiated under anaerobic conditions (deoxidation conditions). The radiation-irradiated and packaged resin molding is primarily packaged with a packaging material having oxygen permeability and then secondarily packaged with an oxygen impermeable packaging material together with a deoxidizer. The method of producing a radiation-irradiated and packaged resin molding involves a step of primarily packaging a resin molding before radiation irradiation with a packaging material having oxygen permeability, a step of subsequently secondarily packaging with an oxygen impermeable packaging material together with a deoxidizer, and then a step of conducting radiation irradiation. A step of opening the secondary packaging under the atmosphere, following the radiation irradiation step, is preferred.
PLASTIC FILM BAGS AND USE THEREOF
A plastic film bag with a bag opening and an opposite bag end includes a plastic film front wall, a plastic film rear wall, a plastic film bag bottom, a plastic film interlayer arranged between the plastic film front wall and the plastic film rear wall, and at least one first layer comprising liquid-absorbent material, wherein the first layer is connected via the front side to the rear side of the plastic film interlayer and extends in the direction of the bottom edge of the plastic film interlayer and ends at a distance from said bottom edge or extends up to the bottom edge or in parts projects beyond the bottom edge in the direction of or up to the plastic film bag bottom. The present disclosure moreover relates to the use of the plastic film bag as a shipping bag, in particular for the transport of liquid samples.
E-VAPING DEVICE CARTRIDGE WITH SUPERABSORBENT POLYMER
A cartridge for an e-vaping device includes a reservoir configured to hold pre-vapor formulation, a vaporizer assembly configured to draw at least some of the pre-vapor formulation from the reservoir and vaporize the drawn pre-vapor formulation to form a vapor, and a superabsorbent polymer configured to absorb free water from pre-vapor formulation held in the reservoir. The superabsorbent polymer includes a cross-linked polyacrylate copolymer that is substantially inert to the pre-vapor formulation. The superabsorbent polymer may be included in a layer on one or more surfaces in the cartridge. The layer may include the superabsorbent polymer and a binder. The superabsorbent polymer may be included with the pre-vapor formulation in a formulation mixture. The superabsorbent polymer may be included in an interior of at least one element comprising the cartridge. The superabsorbent polymer may be included in a separate compartment in the reservoir.
Tray Having Nested Drainage Platform
The disclosure relates to trays for segregating liquid in a reservoir space distinct from a storage space. The trays include a body having a floor and a platform spaced away from the floor and bearing at least one orifice or gap extending therethrough for facilitating fluid flow from the storage space into the reservoir space under the influence of gravity. The gaps and/or orifices are relatively centrally located, which tends to inhibit retrograde flow of fluid from the reservoir space into the storage space. The platform can include one or more deflectable doors defined by elongated gaps. Deflection of a door, such as by a protrusion extending from the body, opens the door-defining gap into a larger opening to facilitate fluid flow. The platform can also have one or more adaptors and/or sockets for securing its position relative to the floor.
