A method for manufacturing a thermoformable ovenable coated cellulosic board includes emulsion coating an aqueous-based polymer-emulsion basecoat on a first major side of a cellulosic board substrate and emulsion coating an aqueous-based polymer-emulsion barrier topcoat on the aqueous-based polymer-emulsion basecoat.

Pack made of polyester with a thermoformable lower film and a sealable and peelable upper film, use thereof, and process for its production

The invention relates to transparent packaging for vacuum forming, inter alia, formed from a biaxially oriented, thermoformable polyester film as lower film (A) and a biaxially oriented polyester film as upper film (B) that is both heat-sealable and peelable (at least when the material is hot) in relation to the lower film (A). The present invention further relates to the use of such packaging to produce sealed, thermoformed packs, and to the processes for their respective production.

TEAR-OFF BAKING CONTAINER
20210227836 · 2021-07-29 · ·

A baking container having one or more rupture lines for ease of removal and separation from a baked foodstuff is described herein. The baking container has a sidewall and a planar bottom face. One or more rupture lines may run down a height of the sidewall and across a portion or all of the planar bottom face. Rupture lines having even spacing may form a strip, and the strip may have a pull tab to easily tear through the sidewall. The strip may be reinforced with a string or ribbon. The rupture lines may be formed by perforating or weakening areas of the baking container.

LEAK-RESISTANT PAPER CLAMSHELL CONTAINERS

Blanks for forming clamshell containers and the resulting clamshell containers are described. The clamshell containers include a tray and a lid that are hingedly connected together. The tray is liquid tight, and typically includes gussets on each corner to prevent leakage. The lid and tray can be locked via at least one locking mechanism, optionally two different locking mechanisms. A first locking mechanism involves a front panel on the tray, with an extension portion that terminates in a hook or tab. The extension portion can fold over the front panel of the lid, and the hook or tabs slide into a slit(s) on the top of the lid. An optional second locking mechanism involves lid detents and tray detents. In some embodiments, in the locked position, the lid detents are underneath the tray detents and the tray detents retain the lid detents in place until a force is applied.

The rancidity of prepackaged candied or sugared nuts, especially, sugar coated almonds, pecans and cashews, is inhibited by packaging the foodstuffs in a GRAS plastic material. This enables the nuts to be exposed to continuous heating or heating and cooling cycles such as within a conventional food warmer or exposure to heating lamps at temperatures up to about 200° F. for extended periods of up to about thirty (30) days while impeding the rancidity of the nut products. Suitable GRAS packaging materials include low-density polypropylene, low-density polyethylene, PET polyester laminates, and the like. The packaging can be in any geometric form. The sugar coated nuts are prepared by coating the nuts with a natural sweetener which may be sugar, corn syrup or like natural sweeteners.

A sealable enclosure is disclosed that is configured to enclose an object that is to be heated, wherein heating of the sealable enclosure with the object sealed therein permits gas generated by the heating to vent out through a first micro-perforation portion disposed in a fold of film layer. Initially, the generated gas is retained in the sealable enclosure. When the temperature of the strip of heat sensitive adhesive reaches a threshold temperature, the strip of heat sensitive adhesive releases so that fold opens, wherein the gas vents through the micro-perforation portion disposed in the film layer out into an ambient region surrounding the sealable enclosure while preventing ambient contaminates in the ambient region from entering into the sealable enclosure.

Container With Liner
