Herein is disclosed an apparatus and method for delivering a fluid to an individual in such a manner that sloshing of the fluid is substantially suppressed, even when the fluid has been only partially consumed. The apparatus includes a reservoir for containing the fluid and a valve in fluid communication with the reservoir. A biasing mechanism exerts a force upon the reservoir, causing it to contract and force fluid through the valve, when the valve is opened. The biasing mechanism and reservoir are housed within a body, according to some embodiments.

Bag-in-box container with a pressurizing element

A bag-in-box container is provided with a spout at an upper opening and a pressurizing element applying pressure to a flexible container. The pressurizing element includes two plate devices being urged apart by a resilient element. The two plate devices are provided with engageable hook elements that may be set out of engagement by shifting one of the plate devices with respect to the other along the plane of the plate devices; the shift causing all hooks to disengage simultaneously. This shifting apart action is performed from the side of the pressurizing element, facilitating disengagement from the side of the bag-in-box container. In one embodiment, a disengagement port is provided giving access to the pressurizing element, such that the at least two plate devices may be brought out of engagement with each other. The disengagement port may be a second opening on the side of the rigid casing.

An apparatus for preserving carbonated beverages or other liquids features a container, and an impermeable piston that divides the container interior into a lower chamber beneath the piston for storage of a liquid, and an upper chamber above the piston. An axially extendable and collapsible conduit has a lower end sealed to the piston around a flow opening that passes axially therethrough, and an upper end connected and sealed to an upper portion of the container around a mouth opening therein. A valve mechanism features a closure member movable between open and closed positions that respectively open and close the flow opening in the piston. Opening of the closure member allows pouring of the liquid out of the container via the flow opening, the conduit and the mouth, and closing of the closure member seals the lower chamber closed in order to preserve the liquid.
