A clasp member has an extending portion and an encasing portion extending from the extending portion. The extending and encasing portions and the inner side of the body define a channel configured to receive a rack beam. A pin seated in the pin opening has a shank, and a head at the outer side of the back plate. The shank extends through the opening into the channel. The shank is configured to engage the rack beam within the channel. The head is welded to the outer side of the back plate. An extension member defines a support surface and includes pair of substantially J-shaped plates and a cover nested with the plates such that it forms the entire support surface and is substantially flush with sides of the substantially J-shaped plates.

The flexible sheet also includes a separation extending from the second and towards the first end. The separation separates the second and into a plurality of anchors. A method enables a flexible sheet with adhesive material thereon to be applied to a person's hands. Fingers are inserted through one or more finger openings. The backing layer is removed. The flexible sheet, including anchors formed by a separation extending from an end of the flexible sheet are adhered around the person's hand.

A protective article of clothing for weight training including bottoms adapted to be worn on a lower portion of an athlete. The bottoms have a front and a rear surface, a waist opening, and left and right leg portions, each with a foot opening. At least one impact-resistant flexible pad is integrally attached to the bottoms and is sized and positioned to substantially cover a zone of likely contact, including the athlete's shins, knees, thighs, hips, hip creases, shoulders, and upper back. The flexible pad dampens impact forces applied to the zones of likely contact.
