Sharps container with blackout strip
A sharps container includes a container portion and a closeable lid. The sharps container includes any suitable cross-sectional shape having at least one wall. The container portion is fabricated from a light translucent or transparent material, such that any suitable light may be shined through the at least one wall thereof. An upper perimeter of the container portion is treated, such that light will not shine through an upper twenty five percent of the container by volume. An opaque tape, an opaque paint, an opaque printing ink or any other suitable treatment is applied to an upper perimeter of the container portion to prevent light from passing through the container portion. At least one wall of the container is treated.
Packaging for catheter treatment devices and associated devices, systems and methods
Packaging (5) for catheter treatment devices, such as catheters (10) including multi-electrode arrays (6), are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, for example, a catheter package assembly comprises a tray (50), a lid (80), and a coiled sheath (30) disposed in the tray. The tray includes at least one pocket (54) adapted to receive a distal end portion of a catheter. The tray and lid each include cooperative latching features (90). The sheath defines a lumen that is configured to receive an elongate shaft (4) of the catheter.
Medical device tray and method of forming the medical device tray
A medical device tray for carrying a plurality of medical devices includes: a base made of a substantially rigid material, the base forming at least one base through-hole that has an associated visual indicator; and a covering affixed to the base, the covering being made of a material which is softer than the substantially rigid material of the base and substantially transparent, the covering forming at least one covering through-hole, the at least one base through-hole and the at least one covering through-hole cooperating to form at least one medical device tray through-hole configured for directly supporting a respective one of the plurality of medical devices.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING WRONG-SITE SURGERIES
A system and related methods of preventing wrong-site surgeries and blade-related injuries to OR personnel, that includes a computer software system in combination with an electronic device. The system is configured to (a) receive surgical planning data that is related to a surgical procedure associated with a patient, including one or more audio files, (b) play the recorded audio files at a later time, and (c) provide, on a display screen, an interactive presentation that indicates (i) instructions to conduct an electronically-recorded “time-out” to confirm various details before starting the intended surgical procedure, and (ii) upon receiving indication of a successfully completed “time-out”, displaying a notification that the verification has been recorded in the electronic profile. Data can be captured throughout the medical environment (from “decision-to-incision” and beyond) to assess wrong-site surgery data (including “near miss” data) and enable a host of analytics on wrong-site surgery prevention.
Oral care instrument and package therefore
A toothbrush having a handle and a head in a display package is described. The head is attached to a neck which is attached to the handle. An indication element is between the head and the handle and is in electrical communication with a power source. A switch connects the indication element to the power source and has a first position where the indication element is not energized and a second position where the indication element is energized. An adequate force applied to the head and an at least partially translucent package body moves the switch to the second position. The package body has a first face and a second face. The first face and/or the second face have a rugose area configured to facilitate application of a force to the head and/or neck through the package body to place the switch in the second position.
System and method for modular component sterilization case
A modular component container system includes a plurality of case walls and a plurality of connectors. Each of the connectors includes at least two connector elements that mechanically connect to the case walls. The system also includes at least one latch connector having a latch connector element. The latch connector element mechanically connects to one of the case walls. A latch is movably oriented relative to the latch connector element. The latch releasably engages another of the case walls.
UTILITY KNIFE BLADE HOLDER FOR TOOL CONTAINER SYSTEM
In one embodiment, a tool container system includes a container with base and cover pivotably attached by a hinge, base and cover locking members, and a latch moveable between unlatched and latched positions to allow or prevent movement of the cover relative to the base. The system also includes a utility knife blade retainer configured to be received in and held by the container, the retainer configured to define a generally trapezoidal shape and contact multiple faces of blades received therein. The retainer comprises an engagement feature to engage with the container to limit movement of the retainer. In another embodiment, a knife blade retainer is configured to be received in a container. The retainer includes a generally trapezoidal shape defined therein to contact multiple faces of a trapezoidal shape of blades received therein. An engagement feature engages with the container to limit movement of the retainer within the container.
REFILLABLE SHAVING HEAD, BLADE STORAGE, AND SHAVER
A refillable shaving head including a guard and a cover movable with respect to the guard between a retaining position, in which the cover and guard are able to retain a blade between them, and a releasing position, the cover being configured to remove the blade from the guard during movement from the retaining position to the releasing position. A blade storage device for same. A shaving system including a blade storage device, one or more blades, and such a head. A shaver including such a head and a handle permanently or removably connectable thereto.
