Swimming posture correction method and swimming posture correction system

A swimming posture correction method and a swimming posture correction system, adapted for a computing apparatus to correct a swimming posture of a swimmer using at least two gravity sensors, are provided. The gravity sensors are respectively disposed at ends of at least two limbs of the swimmer performing a relative stroke action. In the method, body parameters of the swimmer are obtained and a reference index of coordination for implementing a swimming posture suitable for the body parameters is captured. A stroke of the limb is monitored using the gravity sensors to obtain a timing diagram of the limbs performing a stroke promotion action. Then, an index of coordination of the swimmer is calculated by analyzing the timing diagram and compared with the reference index of coordination so as to prompt for correcting the swimming posture according to a comparison result.

Described herein are systems and methods for favorably coordinating a timing relationship between a musculoskeletal activity cycle and a cardiac cycle of a user. A method may include repetitively detecting a signal that correlates to a blood volume in the user; determining an actual value of the signal that varies with the timing relationship; computing a trend of the actual value of the signal; and adjusting the movement guidance based on the trend of the actual value. A system may include a prompt device configured to provide recurrently a movement guidance to the user for guiding performance of the rhythmic musculoskeletal activity; a sensor configured to provide a signal that correlates to a blood volume in the user; and a processor configured to determine an actual value of the signal that varies with the timing relationship and to adjust the movement guidance based on the trend of the actual value.

HAND CONTROL DEVICE FOR SWIMMERS
20200282264 · 2020-09-10 ·

A hand control device for swimmers is presented. The device has a main body with two holes in a side-by-side configuration. The first one of the two holes is configured for a third digit of a person's hand while the second one of the two holes is configured for a fourth digit of the person's hand. The inside surface of each hole comprises a plurality of grooves that run depthwise thereby providing wet traction while impacting minimum direct pressure on the nerves, vessels and tendons. The outside surface of the device may also include ridges to provide pass through for water.

ERGONOMIC TRAINING PADDLE WITH REDUCED FINGER SLIPPAGE

A swim training apparatus for use on a hand of a swimmer in water during a swimming motion, said training aid apparatus comprising: a plate member having a first surface and an opposed second surface and a leading edge and a trailing edge. The first surface has four straight grooves having a bottom and elevated sides along passing from a base of the first surface adjacent the wrist towards a top of the first surface where fingertips extend, wherein height of the elevated sides is at least 1 mm higher than a lowest point of the bottom of the groove.

Swimmer pacing apparatus

The apparatus includes a light emitting pace rope positioned under water that shows where the swimmer should be to move at a selected pace. The LED rope includes a ribbon cable with ground, power and control wires. Equally space LEDs are attached to the ground and power wires along the cable. The cable and LEDs are received in a transparent plastic tube couplers are attached to the cable ends. The plastic tube is encased in transparent silicone. Ends of the LED rope are attached opposite pool end walls. A power supply is connected to a coupler. A micro-controller provided signals to the control wire which provides additional power to illuminate the LEDs one at a time at the selected pace. Additional LEDs are provided to continue the pace in the opposite direction.

Retractable finned footwear used for swimming and walking
10737143 · 2020-08-11 ·

The present invention is retractable finned footwear comprising an outsole with retractable fins and a lever used to extend and retract the fins. One end of the fins is rotatably connected at back end of the outsole using fastener, while the other end is extended outside from front side of outsole. The fins can be secured at the bottom of the outsole, to facilitate the footwear suitable for walking on land. The fins can be extended from bottom of outsole by pulling the lever positioned at the back end of the outsole. The extended fins provide forward propulsive thrust to user wearing the footwear in water. After using in water, the lever can be pushed to align and secure the fins in line with the outsole. This facilitates the use of footwear both in water and land.

Described herein are methods for determining a target musculoskeletal activity cycle (MSKC) to cardiac cycle (CC) timing relationship. The method may include detecting a signal responsive to a cyclically-varying arterial blood flow at a location on a head of a user; providing a recurrent prompt at a frequency of the heart pump cycle using the signal, such that the signal correlates with a magnitude of blood flow adjacent to the location, and the recurrent prompt is provided to guide the user to time performance of a component of a rhythmic musculoskeletal activity with the recurrent prompt; and guiding the user to adjust a timing of the component of the rhythmic musculoskeletal activity to substantially maximize a magnitude of the signal. In some embodiments, the method further includes generating the recurrent prompt by amplifying the sound generated by the blood flow in or in proximity to an ear of the user.
