Synthetic resin container
12006090 · 2024-06-11 · ·

A synthetic resin container has improved formability while preventing deformation of corner walls. The synthetic resin container includes a mouth that serves as a dispensing opening for contents, a body that is continuous with the mouth via a shoulder, and a bottom that closes a lower end of the body. The body includes a pair of main walls arranged so as to face each other with a gap therebetween, a pair of side walls arranged so as to face each other with a gap therebetween, and corner walls that couple respective ends in a circumferential direction of the main walls and the side walls. Each corner wall is provided with U-shaped ribs that are formed in a substantially U-shape within a surface of the corner wall and that are concave toward an inner side in a thickness direction of the corner wall.

Hot-fillable plastic container having vertical pillars and concave deformable side-wall panels

A hot-fillable plastic container includes a base and a body extending upward from the base. The includes a deformable cylindrical sidewall portion defining a central vertical axis, wherein the deformable cylindrical sidewall portion comprises at least two vertical pillars arranged along the body circumference. Each vertical pillar is joined to the next vertical pillar by a generally concave deformable sidewall panel having a concave arc-shaped transverse cross section of curvature radius. The curvature radii of the vertical pillars are smaller than the curvature radii of the generally concave deformable panels, and each transition between a vertical pillar and a generally concave deformable panel is smooth without any convex portion. The large curvature radius of each generally concave deformable panel allows an inward deformation of each panel, and each pillar is slightly pushed outward and is slightly deformed with a small reduction of its curvature radius, under the vacuum created inside the container by the volume reduction of a hot-filled product during cooling.

PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH VARYING DEPTH RIBS

A bottle may have varying depth ribs to achieve a balance of strength and rigidity while maintaining hoop strength. The varying depth ribs may smoothly transition around the circumference of the bottle from a flattened and/or shallow depth rib portion to a deep rib portion. A collection of flattened and/or shallow depth ribs act as recessed columns in the body of the bottle to resist bending, leaning, crumbling, and/or stretching. The deep rib portions provide hoop strength and make the bottle body more rigid and/or stiffer when gripped by a user. A balance may be achieved between of flattened and/or shallow depth ribs and deep ribs to attain a desired resistance to bending, leaning, and/or stretching while maintaining stiffness in a lightweight bottle.

A container for storing a fluid used in automotives is disclosed. The container has a solid filled side grip area located on a sidewall of the container. The container also uses a bail to facilitate holding of the container. A base grip area is located on the base of the container to also assist in gripping the container. The container is able to hold more oil while using less plastic, which makes the container more ecologically friendly and cost effective than existing containers.

The side wall, extending below a shoulder of the thermoplastic bottle, has a gripping portion formed substantially in the middle of the bottle body and includes a first line and a second line each defined in a vertical symmetry plane. The second line has a second point at minimal distance ds2 between the side wall and the central axis, while the first line has a first point at minimal distance ds1 between the first line and the central axis. For these particular points in the gripping portion: ds2<ds1hs1<hs2 A thick portion is provided at and above the second point.

A blow molded synthetic resin bottle has a body and an elongated neck with the body providing a shoulder extending about the base of the neck. The neck has a first collar extending thereabout spaced adjacent the shoulder and at least one additional collar extending thereabout adjacent the upper end of the neck. The resin in the neck is substantially unoriented. To produce the bottle, a synthetic resin preform is injection molded with a generally tubular body and the elongated neck. This preform is placed in a blow mold cavity having a body receiving portion and a neck receiving portion that has a recess extending thereabout seating the first collar therein. The additional collar is disposed outwardly of the mold cavity and is disposed on the upper surface of the mold.
