Multi-well tray and rack therefore
System, apparatuses, and methods for performing automated reagent-based analysis are provided. Also provided are methods for automated attachment of a cap to a reaction receptacle, and automated removal of a cap from a capped reaction receptacle.
Metallic container with a threaded closure
The present invention relates generally to a container that may be sealed and reclosed with a threaded closure. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods of manufacturing a metallic container having an opening with inwardly facing threads that are formed after a threaded closure is inserted at least partially into the opening. The container opening may be selectively sealed and reclosed with the threaded closure which releasably engages the container threads.
CONTAINER ADAPTER LIDS
Apparatuses and methods of operating the same are described. A container lid adapter including a gasket, an adapter lid, and a container band. The gasket may be shaped to attach to a rim of a container to form a seal between the rim and the gasket. The adapter lid may include an opening shaped to receive an adapter. The container band may be shaped to attach the gasket and the adapter lid to the rim of the container.
Reusable bottle cap having identification means
A reusable bottle cap system includes a bottle cap and a bottle cap cover. The bottle cap includes a proximal handling portion and a stem that extends from the proximal handling portion to a distal end. The stem has opposing outside and inside surfaces. The outside surface includes a sealing feature for sealing to the mouth of a beverage bottle. The inside surface defines an opening extending to the distal end of the stem. The shell has an inside surface defining a cavity that is closed at a distal end. A pin extends from the distal end of the inside surface of the shell. The pin is received into the opening of the stem to provide a holding force to secure the bottle cap cover to the bottle cap.
Wine bottle cork holder
A wine cork display and aerating system is disclosed. The wine cork system includes a plug with a corresponding sleeve operable to form a fluid tight seal inside the neck of a bottle, a holder operable to secure a wine cork and a plurality of aeration holes in communication with the bottle's contents to allow the wine to breathe and to prevent contamination of the wine.
REAGENT WELL HAVING A RETENTION FEATURE FOR RETAINING A LYOPHILIZED REAGENT
An article for performing a reaction includes a reagent well having a side wall, a bottom wall and an open upper end. A lyophilized reagent is retained within the well by a non-integral retention feature that is inserted into the open upper end of the well and fixed to a side wall above the reagent. An opening in the retention feature is smaller than a diameter of the reagent, but is sized to permit a pipette tip to be inserted into the well. The retention feature may be a collar fixed to the side wall and may include fingers extending axially into the well. The well and the retention feature may be correspondingly tapered. A method for reconstituting a lyophilized reagent includes the steps of drawing into a pipette tip attached to an automated pipettor an amount of a diluent and dispensing the diluent into the reagent well to thereby reconstitute the lyophilized reagent.
