Tessellating blister packages for contact lenses

A blister package for a contact lens is provided that can be stacked with other blister packages of the same design. One example of the blister package has a body that includes a dome and a handle. A seal is attached to the top surface of the body and has a seal dome that seals a volume between the outer sidewall of the body dome and the inner sidewall of the seal dome. The handle has a through-hole and the through-hole that accommodates the outer sidewall of the seal dome. Another blister package provided has a handle and a bowl and the handle has a through-hole that accommodates the bowl outer surface. Stacks of blister packages are also provided as is secondary packaging for packaging stacks of tessellating blister packages.

Device dispensing apparatus

In one general aspect, an apparatus can include a container including a lid, and a cradle configured to support a device. The apparatus can include a lifting mechanism operably coupled to the cradle and the lid. The lifting mechanism can be configured to move between a storage position where the cradle is disposed in the container to a dispensing position where the cradle is disposed outside of the container. The lifting mechanism can be configured to move between the storage position and the dispensing position in response to moving the lid. The lifting mechanism can include a first link aligned parallel to a second link when the lifting mechanism is in the dispensing position and when the lifting mechanism is in the storage position. The first link and the second link can both be within the same plane when in a position between the storage position and the dispensing position.

Contact lens case and related methods and kits

A case is provided for holding one or more contact lenses. The case is configured to receive an inner pod, and the case includes an upper part and a lower part. The upper part is structured to move relative to the lower part from an open configuration wherein the upper and lower parts are at least partially separated to a closed configuration wherein the upper and lower parts are together. The upper part is also structured to move relative to the lower part from a disengaged position to an engaged position wherein, in the disengaged position, the case is movable between the open and closed configurations and in the engaged position, the case is locked in the closed configuration.

Blister package for contact lens

A blister package for a contact lens is provided. A deformable slider supporting a lens is movable via pull-tab or hinge to lift the contact lens out of a lens well. The deformable slider can include a hinge connected to a flexible peel-away top of the blister package or connected to a pull tab that can be pulled to pull taut the deformable slider. A blister package is also provided that includes a hinged shell having a lateral opening opposite the hinge, and a deformable slider that is folded over onto itself and seals both a top chamber and a bottom chamber. By pulling a tongue of the deformable slider, which extends from the lateral opening, the deformable slider can be removed from the closed shell and the closed shell can be opened enabling access to the contact lens.

CONTACT LENS CASE DRAINAGE DEVICE

A device on which to place contact lens case components to dry. The device is a mat with drainage channels formed thereon. The contact lens components are placed on spaced-apart walls that define the drainage channels and the spaced-apart wall receive the contact lens components and hold them above the drainage channels. This arrangement allows liquid solution and residue to drain from the contact lens case components place on the mat. The mat is sloped and the liquid solution flows to a lip on one end of the mat and then off of the mat. The mat has a slightly sloped base to assist in such drainage.

Contact lens package with reduced head space

The packages described by this invention all have reduced “head space,” that is, the distance from lid to lens. Packages contain dimples to achieve this reduced head space. Specifically, packages are designed with dimple sag equal to or less than 1.90-mm, or volume displaced equal to or less than 360 μl. Combined with the existing primary packaging, it has been found that such conditions provide for reduction in folded lens rate during shipping and handling. As well, lenses stored or having an extended time in low head space packages in a “foil down” orientation now have characteristics closer lenses stored in a “foil up orientation.”

Contact lens package with micro-textured interior bowl surface

A container for a contact lens, having a micro-textured pattern on an interior surface thereof to prevent adherence of the lens to the container. In-container inspection of the lens within the container does not recognize the micro-textured pattern of the container as a defect on the lens.

CONTACT LENS PACKAGES AND METHODS OF USE

A blister package for a contact lens includes a base sheet and a sealing sheet. Either the base sheet or the sealing sheet includes a bowl, and the other sheet includes a dome and a sealing surface. The dome has a radius of curvature of about 13 mm to 19 mm and a height of less than 7 mm relative to the sealing surface. The dome is configured to protrude into the bowl to form a cavity. Related methods are also described.

CONTACT LENS PACKAGE KIT WITH RECYCLING FASTENER

A contact lens package kit is described that includes a contact lens packages, wherein each contact lens package includes a base member having a cavity and a sealing member coupled to the base member. An unworn contact lens is provided in a packaging solution within the sealed cavity. The base member is a thermoplastic material (or other recyclable material) and includes a substantially planar surface surrounding the cavity to provide a sealing surface for the sealing member. The kit also includes at least one fastener configured to retain a plurality of base members from each of the contact lens packages after the contact lens is removed from the cavity. A recyclable thermoplastic contact lens assembly is also described, that includes empty contact lens packages attached to a fastener. A method to recycle used contact lens packages, such as curbside recycling, is further described that uses the fastener, and the fastener itself is also described.
