LIFTER-COMPATIBLE TELESCOPING BIN

Disclosed herein is a bin that has a first portion configured to hold at least one item therein and an adjustable second portion. The adjustable second portion is configured to couple with the first portion and slide relative to the first portion between a collapsed position and an expanded position. The collapsed position provides a minimum combined height for the first portion and the adjustable second portion in which the adjustable second portion encapsulates the first portion in order for the bin to be placed inside a receptacle. The expanded position provides a maximum combined height for the first portion and the adjustable second portion in order for the bin to interface with a mechanical device for disposing of the at least one item. The bin also includes one or more holding mechanisms for securing the bin in at least one of the collapsed and expanded positions.

A refuse receptacle is disclosed, having a body with an upper and a lower portion, the upper portion having a top rim forming a gusset with a vertical wall and a horizontal wall, the lower portion having a bottom side with a base rim. On the back side of the upper portion is a handle attached to the body of the receptacle. The handle is attached to the upper portion by at least one projecting sidewall. A lid is included, having a convex upper surface and two sets of opposing sidewalls. The opposing sidewalls correspond with the top rim of the body. The lid includes at least one projection to attach to the handle with a securing plate and fastener. The lower portion includes a drainage plug so that liquids within the body can be easily drained. A pair of wheels are connected by an axle and housed within wheel recesses.

An in-ground apparatus includes a receptacle and a liner into which the receptacle can be placed and removed. The liner may be a molded plastic liner having a tapering body to permit stacking. The lower margin includes a set of seats for anchor fittings in the form of re-bar prongs that, when installed, extend radially outwardly from the liner. The seats, and hence the prongs, are located upwardly of the bottom edge of the liner so that they are embedded above and below when concrete is poured around the bottom of the liner. The bottom edge of the liner is folded upwardly and inwardly to form a V-shaped channel. The seats for the anchor fittings extend across the channel. The seats may include a cylindrical wall sealed from the inside of the liner. The liner may have intermediate stiffening ribs between bottom and top. The top of the liner may have a seat for the receptacle, and an external concrete break.

Trash collection assembly and method of use

A trash collection assembly may include a dumpster housing which may house therein a dumpster to provide a more desirable aesthetic appeal. A garbage truck may be configured to lift the dumpster out of the dumpster housing without the need for the garbage truck driver to get out of the truck. A cover of the dumpster may open and close automatically respectively during the removal of the dumpster from the housing and return of the dumpster to the housing.

The device comprises a mount for mounting the device to a vehicle, a central support for supporting the waste container, the central support being connected to the mount and being extendable to lift the waste container off the ground, an attachment element for attaching the waste container to the central support, and a lifting mechanism for raising and lowering the waste container when the waste container is attached to the central support, wherein the device is configured such that when the device is mounted to the vehicle, a waste container can be lifted and transported by the vehicle in a substantially upright position.

The refuse cart retention system generally includes a retention corral and at least one large refuse cart and/or at least one small refuse cart. Various mechanisms for retaining refuse carts in the retention corral include retention structures to receive a segment of a refuse cart frame, and frame protrusions connected to the retention corral that can be placed in tight contact with a cutout in the sides of the refuse carts having a geometry substantially identical to that of the frame protrusions.
