Method and Apparatus for Monitoring Waste Removal and Administration
20240158162 · 2024-05-16 ·

A method for a municipality to control, track, and monitor waste or refuse receptacles requires a permit for use of a waste receptacle. An issuing organization issues a permit associated with a discreet receptacle identifier. An RFID tag is provided with the permit and attached to a discreet receptacle. The RFID tag transmits a signal carrying data associated with the discreet receptacle identifier. The signal may be read by a portable reader carried by municipal personnel to record violations of municipal code associated with the use of the discreet receptacle.

WEIGHT-MEASUREMENT RETROFITTING FOR RECYCLABLE-WASTE BALERS
20190224935 · 2019-07-25 · ·

A recycling method is disclosed that includes the steps of compacting recyclable material into a fixed bale of recyclable material while concurrently weighing the OCC in the compactor and independently of the force that the compactor applies to the material or to the bale, assigning an individual identifier to the fixed bale in which the identifier includes at least the weight of the bale, and sending the fixed identified bale to a destination selected from the group consisting of shippers, mills, rebalers, or a customers for the baled recyclable material. Also, devices and methods are disclosed for upgrading existing or new balers to enable them to perform at least some portions of the improved recycling methods. Example devices include baler-mounted load-cell weight sensors and U-shaped anchor plates for securing them in place in a free-floating arrangement.

Solid Waste Evaluation and Weighing System
20190210798 · 2019-07-11 · ·

A solid waste evaluation and weighing system, as described herein, comprises a device, wherein the device comprises hardware, software, firmware, and combinations thereof, designed to evaluate and calculate the weight of solid waste as it is picked up by garbage trucks. Contemplate embodiments aim to increase the granularity and quality of solid waste generated on a per-customer basis for the trash and recycling industry. Such information may be used for applications such as, but not restricted to, quantifying consumer behavior, improving operational efficiency, reducing operating costs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
