A refuse hopper is disclosed which may be mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck, a flat-bed truck or on a trailer. The refuse hopper includes a horizontally disposed support frame having a rear end, a front end, a first side and a second side. A hopper is pivotally mounted on the support frame and has a front end, a rear end, a front side and a second side. The refuse hopper is selectively movable between a horizontally disposed loading position and a dumping position. A compactor plate is pivotally mounted to the hopper and is movable between an upwardly extending loading position to a refuse packing position within the hopper. The hopper has a volume of about four cubic yards.

The container can be a freestanding waste container, a self-contained compaction container, or a container on a waste collection vehicle. A hydraulically operated compactor blade is positioned in the upper portion of the container with its bottom edge a distance above the floor. A door member can be provided in the rear wall of the collection container. The compactor blade can be in its rest position relative to the top opening. The container member can be positioned or located on a trailer or truck-type vehicle and adapted to be tilted for evacuation of materials collected therein.

The tilt truck comprises a collapsible frame and collection bin. The collection bin comprises a two-part bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, and two lateral side panels, each of the panels is attached to the collapsible frame. The lateral side panels are configured to fold when the tilt truck is collapsed. In some implementation, the collapsible tilt truck includes a trash bag bracket that is positioned within the collection bin. In this way, a trash bag can be secured to the trash bag bracket and used to collect and transport loose trash and/or recyclables separately from the refuse generally stored in the collection bin.

The set of bushings is selected based on the actuator to be connected to the at least one of the cradle assembly and the hoist bracket assembly. Methods for connecting an actuator between a dump body and a chassis of a truck are also provided. A hinge assembly for pivotally connecting a dump body to a chassis of a truck is also provided.

A refuse collection vehicle body having a receiving hopper with a pendulum packer device mounted for arcuate movement therewithin, a tapered storage compartment for receiving refuse material from the receiving hopper, a tailgate assembly having a pneumatic mechanism for controlling the tailgate latch mechanism, and an ejection system for dumping the refuse material collected within the storage compartment, the storage compartment having a trough or channel associated with its top portion for housing the hydraulic cylinders associated with the pendulum packer device and the tailgate assembly. The hydraulic cylinder associated with the ejection system as well as the hydraulic tank and hydraulic fluid cooler associated with the vehicle body are all positioned over hazmat containment devices to contain any leakage from these components during normal operation. The tapered storage compartment is formed by joining two rectangular sheets of material to a pair of wedge shaped members.
