Receptacle for Secure Collection of Waste
A waste collection receptacle, for example a receptacle in compliance with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) regulations concerning the disposal of controlled substances, includes a housing and a waste-collection container therein. A chute directs waste deposited through an aperture in the housing into the waste-collection container. A fill sensor monitors the fill level of the waste-collection container. When the waste-collection container reaches a fill threshold, a controller sends a signal that electronically locks the aperture, thereby preventing additional waste from being deposited into the receptacle.
Recycling bin for classification and compression of renewable resources
A recycling bin for classification and compression of renewable resources, comprising a recycling bin housing, and a recycling bin inner container and a pressurizing device provided inside the recycling bin housing, wherein a weighing device is further provided between a bottom of the recycling bin inner container and the recycling bin housing; the pressurizing device comprises a compression beam provided in an upper part of an inner cavity of the recycling bin inner container, and a driving part for driving the compression beam to move; an upper end of the driving part is connected to the compression beam, and a lower end is connected to the bottom of the recycling bin inner container.
Hands free storage receptacle
A storage receptacle can include a storage bin and a pedal mounted to the receptacle as well as a hopper. A method of using the storage receptacle can include receiving a force on a hopper handle of a hopper of a storage receptacle, the hopper having a cable connection point connected to a cable, based on the force, rotating the hopper to enable a user to place material in a storage bin of the storage receptacle, wherein the rotating causes the cable to have slack and preventing the cable having the slack from coming out of a groove in a pulley via a shroud positioned over at least a portion of the pulley.
Method of requesting waste collection services
A method for efficiently and automatically requesting waste collection services through the use of mobile communication devices is disclosed. The method utilizes a fill-level sensor or fill-level sensors attached to dumpsters of various sizes. The fill-level sensor is configured to monitor a dumpster's capacity in terms of waste volume. Whenever the volume reaches a predetermined fill-level set by the generator, an automatic collection request is sent out to at least one hauler capable of carrying out the collection.
IMPROVED WASTE HANDLING SYSTEMS
Described in a system and method for waste handling. The system comprises a compressing collection bin comprising a cavity and a compression platen in the cavity positioned to move within the cavity to compress waste contained therein during a compression stroke. An actuator moves the compression platen within the cavity in at least one motion selected from perpendicular motion and differential velocity. An energy storage device powers actuator and a solar panel for charges the energy storage device. At least one lift channel is provided which is capable of engaging with inversion fingers.
Monitoring fullness of containers
A waste container monitoring system may include a monitoring device configured to be positioned in a waste container, a remote processing system, and sensors to monitor conditions of the container. A communication connection communicates the one or more conditions to the remote processing system. A waste compactor monitoring system may include a monitoring assembly having a hub device and one or more sensors connected to the hub device and distributed around the waste compactor system, the one or more sensors being configured to monitor one or more conditions of the waste compactor system. A sensor assembly for a waste container monitoring system may connect to a hydraulic reservoir in a waste compactor. The sensor assembly may include a breather cap, a sensing element for detecting a level and/or a temperature of fluid in the hydraulic reservoir, and a dip tube to support the sensing element inside the hydraulic reservoir.
Local node for a waste management system
An enhanced local node to be installed to a waste collection site. A radio interface unit is configured for communication using signals specified for radio access in a radio access network, and a radar unit is configured to use information on received or transmitted signals of the radio interface unit to determine a distance from the local node to refuse objects inside a container. The local node thus uses the same signals to detect a fill state of a container and to transmit the fill state of the container from the local node to the control node.
Systems and methods for waste management
Disclosed is a waste management system and method including a plurality of waste management devices. Each waste management device further includes a plurality of sensors configured to sense contents of a waste bin. The device is configured to transmit sensory information from the plurality of sensors. The sensory information from the plurality of sensors and is related to the contents of the waste bin. A server configured to receive and store sensory information transmitted by the plurality of devices. The server stores a fill level of the waste bin based on the sensory information. A processor operably connected to the server, wherein the processor is configured to determine the fill level of the waste bin based on the sensory information. A user device configured to receive, store, and display the fill level of the waste bin.
