Locomotion apparatus having a snow ski and skate board platform combination with brake
A locomotion apparatus that has a base that secures a skateboard platform to a snow ski as a combination. The base is secured into position by bindings of a ski. A brake mechanism is provided that has a brake seat, a lever arm and a spring arm that cooperate with each other to enable the brake mechanism to move between a deployed brake position, at which the combination brakes to prevent its locomotion, and a non-deployed brake position, at which the locomotion is enabled.

A gliding apparatus for use in snow is provided. The gliding apparatus may include a riding platform, the riding platform having a top surface to support a rider's feet and a bottom surface. The gliding apparatus may also include a snow ski, a first mounting device and a second mounting device, each positioned between the riding platform and the snow ski and each having a top portion and a bottom portion. The bottom portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled about a first axis to the snow ski and the bottom portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled about a second axis to the snow ski. The top portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a third axis and the top portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a fourth axis.

A gliding apparatus for use in snow is provided. The gliding apparatus may include a riding platform, the riding platform having a top surface to support a rider's feet and a bottom surface. The gliding apparatus may also include a snow ski, a first mounting device and a second mounting device, each positioned between the riding platform and the snow ski and each having a top portion and a bottom portion. The bottom portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled about a first axis to the snow ski and the bottom portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled about a second axis to the snow ski. The top portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a third axis and the top portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a fourth axis.
Split snowboard
A system and method for providing a ski-snowboard device capable of skinning in an uphill ski mode and skiing in a downhill snowboard mode. The system may include two skis with inner and outer edges having substantially concave side cuts, and an insert that fits into the space between the inner edge side cuts of each of the two skis. The concave side cuts of the inner edges of the skis may have a groove formed in each, and a mating tongue on each side of the insert can fit into the grooves in a downhill snowboard mode. The tongue-and-groove connection may improve the torsional stiffness of the board, and the concave side cuts may allow a user to better grip when skiing and eliminate the step of switching the skis when used as sides of the snowboard.
Snowboard attachment to a standard snowboard for riding under powder snow conditions
There is provided a snowboard attachment to a standard snowboard for riding under powder snow conditions. The snowboard attachment comprises a nose part, an elongate passage and a body part. The nose part is operable to attach to the standard snowboard for providing lift and float while riding on powder snow. The elongate passage has walls extending between an opening in a top surface of the snowboard attachment and an opening in a bottom surface of the snowboard attachment, and is orientated transverse to the longitudinal axis of the snowboard attachment. The walls of the elongate passage are configured to surround the standard snowboard. The body part is attached in operation to the nose part, and has clamp through openings. The clamp through openings are arranged to receive bolts of a binding clamp of the standard snowboard, such that the clamp through openings lie in operation between the binding clamp and the standard snowboard.

Watersport boards and methods for forming the same. A watersport board includes an elongate shell and at least one infusion member within a shell internal volume of the elongate shell. The shell internal volume includes a shell void volume that contains a shell fill material and an infusion member volume. The infusion member weighs less than an equal volume of the shell fill material. The at least one infusion member may be or include an infusion sleeve, which defines an infusion sleeve volume that contains an infusion fill material that is less dense than the shell fill material. A method of forming a watersport board includes forming an elongate shell that defines a shell internal volume, positioning at least one infusion member within the shell internal volume, and filling the shell void volume with a shell fill material.

SPLITBOARD JOINING DEVICE
Some embodiments disclosed herein provide an apparatus for joining two skis to form a splitboard. The apparatus can comprise a first attachment portion configured to attach to a first ski and a second attachment portion configured to attach to a second ski. The first attachment portion and the second attachment portion can be configured to engage to prevent splitboard skis from moving up and down relative to each other, from moving apart in a direction perpendicular to a seam of the splitboard, from sliding relative to each other in a direction parallel to the seam, and from rotating about the seam of the splitboard.
GEOMETRICALLY VARIABLE-ROCKER SURFBOARD
A flexible surfboard is provided in an embodiment. The surfboard includes a foam body having a length, width, and thickness. The surfboard includes a flexible structural component tapered in at least one dimension, and disposed within the foam body. The flexible structural component has as dimensions a length, width, and thickness, and is configured to flex under induced forces during use. The flex characteristics of the flexible surfboard are primarily dependent on flex characteristics of the flexible structural component. The tapered flexible structural component is oriented within the foam body such that the length, width, and thickness of the tapered flexible structural component align with the length, width, and thickness of the foam body, respectively. The thickness of the soft body is less than the width of the soft body, and the width of the soft body is less than the length of the soft body. The thickness of the tapered flexible structural component is less than the width of the tapered flexible structural component, and the width of the flexible structural component is less than the length of the tapered flexible structural component. The length of the tapered flexible structural component is 6 to 12 inches shorter than the length of the foam body.
