CONVEYOR BELT CLEANER BLADE WEAR MONITORING SYSTEM
A system and apparatus are provided for monitoring one or more characteristics of a scraper blade of a belt cleaner system. The system and apparatus may be configured to monitor the amount of wear of the scraper blade. The system and apparatus may include a self-contained wear monitoring unit which includes one or more sensors for detecting scraper blade wear. The sensor may be a wear sensor including one or more conductive wear indicators on a circuit board, wherein the circuit board is positioned and adapted to be worn down along with the scraper blade due to abrasion with the conveyor belt, such that portions of the conductive wear indicator disposed on the circuit board will also be worn away as the scraper blade is worn down. The wear monitoring unit may be configured to be retrofit to an existing scraper blade without any modification to the scraper blade.

Secondary belt cleaner with modular, torsional tensioned arm and replaceable blade tips
A secondary belt cleaner system for cleaning the surface of the return side of an endless conveyor belt. The system includes a plurality of blade devices that are rotatably biased against the return side surface using a respective torsion spring therein. Each blade device includes a head portion formed by a blade support and a replaceable blade tip that is releasably secured to the blade support. The head portion is connected to one end of a blade arm and the other end of the blade arm is coupled to a rotatable shaft inside a housing that is fixedly secured to a support shaft having mounting brackets at each end for mounting the system transversely to the conveyor belt frame. Adjacent blade devices have different blade arm lengths in order to have the blade coverage overlap with no gaps in between. Because these blade arm lengths are different and to maintain each blade tip in contact with the return side surface, the respective torsion springs in adjacent blade devices are pretensioned to different angular amounts.

Apparatus and method for cleaning a conveyor belt
A cleaning apparatus includes a roller, a conveyor belt and a belt cleaner. The conveyor belt transports food material in a first direction, and the belt cleaner cleans the food material from the conveyor belt as the conveyor belt travels in a second direction, distinct from the first direction. The conveyor belt passes around the roller as the conveyor belt changes from traveling in the first direction to traveling in the second direction. At least a portion of the belt cleaner is located directly below the roller such that food material falling off the conveyor belt when the conveyor belt passes around the roller is caught by the belt cleaner. The belt cleaner includes an enclosure through which the conveyor belt passes and an air nozzle located within the enclosure. The air nozzle directs air onto the underside of the conveyor belt. Preferably, the air nozzle is an air knife, which generates a sheet of air.
