System for blocking a vehicle, method therefor and dock provided therewith
The invention relates to a system for blocking a vehicle, a loading-unloading system provided therewith and a method therefor. The system includes a blocking device capable of moving along the vehicle; a blocking element attached to the blocking device capable of being positioned against a vehicle tire such that the vehicle is blocked; a blocking element extension mechanism configured to extend the blocking element from a retracted position to an extended position; height adjusting means for height adjustment of the blocking element; and calculation means for calculating the desired height of the blocking element with the blocking element in an extended position such that the blocking element is used for determining the position of the vehicle tire.
Collapsible Chock Assembly
A collapsible chock assembly for automatically chocking a vehicle tire includes a housing that is positioned in a well in a support surface thereby facilitating a vehicle to drive on the housing. A chock unit is provided and the chock unit is movably positioned in the housing. The chock unit is selectively positioned in a deployed position to abut a tire on the vehicle thereby inhibiting the vehicle from rolling. The chock unit is selectively positioned in a compressed position having the chock unit being recessed into the housing thereby allowing the vehicle to roll.
Blocking Device and Method for Blocking a Vehicle and/or Entrance to a Loading-Unloading Station, and a Dock and Distribution Center Provided Therewith
The present invention relates to a blocking device for blocking a vehicle and/or entrance to a loading-unloading station, a dock and/or distribution center provided therewith and method therefor. The blocking device includes: a guide track with guide track supports disposed along a driveway; a carriage attached to the guide track with a blocking element, with the carriage being capable of moving along the driveway; a blocking element extension mechanism configured to extend the blocking element between a retracted position and an extended blocking position; and a guide track drive configured for lifting and/or lowering the guide track. The guide track drive is further configured such that the guide track performs a horizontal movement when being lifted or lowered, and the vertical and horizontal movements are being performed simultaneously or successively.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A DOCKING STATION
A system and method for remotely controlling loading dock components is disclosed that includes a distribution center having at least one dock station for exchanging materials and a dock component configured to in at least two operational states. An actuator is included that is configured to change the operational state of the dock component in response to an activation signal. A mobile remote control is configured to generate the activation signal to cause the actuator to change the operational state of the dock component and at least one predefined non-activation zone is included such that changing of operational state of the dock component is inhibited when the mobile remote control is located within the at least one predefined non-activation zone.
WHEEL CHOCK ALARM SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
Example vehicle restraint systems and related methods are disclosed. An example vehicle restraint system includes a wheel chock having an inclined tire-engaging surface, where the wheel chock is movable to an installed position at which the wheel chock is to engage the freight transporter. The vehicle restraint system includes a take-up reel and a retractable elongate member to be at least partially wrapped around the take-up reel. The retractable elongate member to extend between the wheel chock and a platform structure.

LOADING-RAMP SAFETY DEVICE
The invention relates to a loading-ramp safety device (10) for a loading ramp (14) to be laid onto a truck (12), comprising a signal device (20) associated with the loading ramp and a blocking device (22) associated with the truck. According to the invention, the signal device is designed to send a signal (24) regarding the loading situation at the loading ramp, and the blocking device is arranged on board the truck and furthermore is designed to receive the signal and to prevent the truck from moving away from the loading ramp in accordance with the signal.
Transport wheel restraint
Systems and methods are provided for restraining the movement of a wheeled transport apparatus using a restraining device. The restraining device may include an elongated frame component having an upstanding rear portion and a base portion. The base portion is configured to be secured to a floor surface. A loading member may be provided, located adjacent the elongated frame component. The loading member defines a ramp surface to guide a rotational movement of a wheel of the wheeled transport apparatus into a receiving space. In certain aspects, the elongated frame component comprises an angle iron defining a length and having a substantially uniform L-shaped cross-section. The device may further include a locking member pivotally coupled to the elongated frame component and configured to retainingly engage a structural component of the wheeled transport apparatus.
