Provided is a system for identification of an item, wherein the system includes a conveyor belt, a positioning device and a reader operable to receive at least one reading, wherein the positioning-device is configured to retrieve a first position of the item) at a first time instant before the first antenna and a second position of the item at a second time instant after the first antenna, the first and second time instants defining a time window, wherein the reader is configured to extract from each reading retrieved by the first antenna a measurement of the phase of the signal transmitted by the tag and perform a data processing of the phase measurements, whereby the identification of the item is accomplished.

Baggage handling and delivery system

The baggage handling and delivery system provides a plurality of secure pickup stations for individual passengers to receiver their baggage. A plurality of interconnected conveyer belts are used to create a variety of different routes for baggage to follow, with each individual route terminating at a pickup station. Each baggage item is provided with an identifier, such as a bar code, a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag or the like, such that each item of baggage associated with an individual passenger is routed to the specific pickup station assigned to that passenger. Under guidance of a connected controller, each item of baggage entering the baggage handling and delivery system is scanned and routed along a specific path to be received by the appropriate pickup station. Each pickup station is secure and accessible only to the assigned passenger.

An Automated Load Handling System

An automated load handling system including: first and second automated storage and retrieval systems each having a grid framework structure, and plural robotic load handling devices; at least one port column through which a respective robotic load handling device is able to access storage containers; and at least one transfer system configured to transfer storage containers or items therein from a port column of the first automated storage and retrieval system to a port column of the second automated storage and retrieval system, and wherein grid openings of the first and second automated storage and retrieval systems are of different size.

Amphiphilic surface-modifying additives to improve fouling-release of marine coatings

The invention relates to a curable coating composition comprising at least one surface-modifying amphiphilic additive and at least one siloxane-polyurethane coating composition. The invention also relates to methods of making and using the curable coating composition of the invention. The invention also relates to methods for reducing or preventing biofouling of a surface exposed to an aqueous environment comprising the use of the curable coating composition of the invention.

The present technology relates generally to an anti-bump apparatus attached to an end portion of a belt loader and configured to create a space between the end portion and a baggage cart. The anti-bump apparatus includes a shaft portion and a flag portion attached to the shaft portion. The shaft portion is coupled to the end portion of the belt loader with a mounting portion formed from a pivot plate and a mounting plate. The pivot plate is pivotable relative to the mounting plate allowing the anti-bump apparatus to be in either a stowed position or a deployed position. A locking mechanism formed from a locking pin in the pivot plate and a plurality of locking pin holes in the mounting plate ensure that the anti-bump apparatus does not prematurely transition from one position to the other.

Extendible fences for extendible conveyors are disclosed. An example conveyor includes a fence assembly having a plurality of channel segments including at least a base channel segment, an intermediate channel segment, and a distal channel segment. The fence assembly is adjustable in a lengthwise direction such that the fence assembly is longer in the lengthwise direction when a main conveyor assembly is in a fully extended configuration than when the main conveyor assembly is in a fully retracted configuration. The intermediate channel segment is interposed between the base channel segment and the distal channel segment with respect to the lengthwise direction. Each channel segment of the plurality of channel segments includes sidewalls extending upward from a bottom panel. The intermediate channel segment to move in translation in the lengthwise direction relative to an intermediate conveyor section. The bottom panel of the intermediate channel segment is positioned between an upper portion of a conveyor belt of the main conveyor assembly and an upper load bearing surface of the intermediate conveyor section. The upper portion of the conveyor belt being interposed between the sidewalls with reference to a lateral direction, where the lateral direction is horizontal and perpendicular to the lengthwise direction.
