A medium feed device includes a feed roller provided to a device body and configured to feed paper, a separator roller provided at a position on the device body facing the feed roller and configured to separate the paper, and a medium support section configured to support the medium in an inclined state upstream of the feed roller. The medium support section is configured with a variable contact angle between the paper supported by the medium support section and the separator roller.

The control section controls a first card-conveyance motor for driving the rollers to convey the card Ca into the rotary unit F, and determines whether the sensor SN26 detects the card Ca. The sensor SN26 is arranged at the same distance as a sensor SN3 or a shorter distance than the sensor SN3, from the rotary unit F.
Sheet storage device and image forming apparatus
A sheet storage device includes a sheet storage unit to store sheets, a regulating unit in the sheet storage unit, and a lifting unit. The regulating unit regulates a position of a rear edge portion of the sheets in a sheet conveyance direction and includes a supporting portion, an urging member, and a pressing portion having a pressing surface in which a position to be in contact with lower sheets is a pressing surface lower portion, and a position to be in contact with upper sheets located higher than the lower sheets is a pressing surface upper portion. The pressing surface can be in a first state, where the pressing surface upper portion is located downstream from the pressing surface lower portion in a pressing direction, or in a second state, where the pressing surface lower portion is located downstream from the pressing surface upper portion in the pressing direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes: an accommodating unit that accommodates a sheet in a state of extending along a gravity direction; a delivery unit that delivers the sheet from an upper end of the accommodating unit; a recording unit that is disposed in an upper portion of a main body of the image forming apparatus and that records an image on the sheet; a discharge unit that is disposed below the recording unit in the gravity direction, the sheet having the image recorded by the recording unit being discharged to the discharge unit; and an opening/closing member supported in the upper portion of the main body of the image forming apparatus to open or close the upper portion of the main body of the image forming apparatus.
FEEDING DEVICE
A feeding device includes a detection unit, a control unit, a first plate on which a recording material is placed, a second plate located above the first plate in vertical direction, and an uplift unit to uplift a recording material placed on the first plate. The detection unit changes a detection result when an uplifted recording material arrives at a feeding position. The recording material placed on the first plate is uplifted by the uplift unit until the detection result is changed. The detection result is changed when a recording material fed from the second plate passes the detection unit while the recording material placed on the first plate is not in the feeding position. The control unit causes recording material to be sequentially fed from the second plate, and causes the uplift unit to uplift the recording material placed on the first plate in an interval time.
Sheet tray and sheet conveying apparatus
There is provided a sheet tray including: a first tray; a second tray supported by the first tray; and a third tray supported by the second tray. The second tray has a first engaging section engageable with the first tray at a second position; the third tray has a second engaging section contactable with the second tray, in a drawing direction from a first position toward the second position, at a fifth position between a third and a fourth position, and engageable with the second tray at the fourth position. The second engaging section is configured to be elastically deformable to be movable in a releasing direction in which the contact between the second engaging section and the second tray is released. The second and third trays are moved integrally in the drawing direction in a state that the second engaging section makes contact with the second tray.

The medium handling apparatus includes a deposit/withdrawal unit configured to separate each individual medium and accumulate the medium, a discrimination unit configured to discriminate whether the media are abnormal and types of the media, a medium storage unit including a plurality of recycling cassettes, a temporary storage unit configured to temporarily store media discriminated as normal media, and a conveyance path configured to convey the media. Media in each of the recycling cassettes are temporarily stored in the temporary storage unit to confirm the number of media remaining in the recycling cassette, and the media in the temporary storage unit are conveyed back to and stored in the recycling cassette when the number of remaining media is sensed.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes an apparatus body, a sheet stacking portion including an engagement portion, provided to be insertable to/removable from the apparatus body and capable of having sheets stacked thereon, and a conveyance guide portion provided to be insertable to/removable from the apparatus body and constituting a sheet conveyance path through which a sheet passes in a state where the conveyance guide portion is mounted to a mounted position in the apparatus body. The conveyance guide portion has an engaged portion that is pressed by the engagement portion accompanying an operation where the sheet stacking portion is inserted to the apparatus body, and moves the conveyance guide portion to the mounted position.

A medium placing device (feeding tray) includes a placement unit, a regulation unit (edge guide), a displacement unit, a detection unit, and an adjustment unit. The regulation unit (edge guide) includes a first regulation member (first edge guide) and a second regulation member (second edge guide). The displacement unit is capable of moving the first regulation member (first edge guide) and the second regulation member (second edge guide) in directions opposite to each other along a first direction. The detection unit is provided between the placement unit and the adjustment unit.
