A sheet accommodating cassette includes a sheet accommodating section, a sheet loading plate, and a lift mechanism. The lift mechanism includes a rotary shaft, a push-up plate, a coupling member, an actuator, and an urging member. The push-up plate lifts up and down the sheet loading plate by pivoting about the rotary shaft. Driving force is input from a cassette attachment section to the coupling member. The actuator projects from an end of the rotary shaft. The urging member urges the actuator in a direction in which the sheet loading plate pivots toward the lowered position.

A media processing device includes: a hopper supporting media units (e.g. cards), and a biasing assembly biasing the cards toward a hopper outlet; an input roller for accepting a single card at a hopper slot inlet; a pick roller at the outlet for dispensing a card from the hopper to a media processing path; a motor having an output shaft; a primary drivetrain segment connecting the output shaft with the pick roller; an auxiliary output selector connected to the primary drivetrain segment and switchable between first and second output configurations; first and second auxiliary drivetrain segments connecting the output selector, respectively, with the input roller and a release member for disengaging the biasing assembly; and a selector input movable to switch the output selector between the first output configuration, coupling the primary and first auxiliary drivetrain segments, and the second output configuration, coupling the primary and second auxiliary drivetrain segments.

A sheet conveying device includes a sheet stacker, an air blower, a guide, and a holder. The sheet stacker stacks sheets. The air blower blows air to the sheets on the sheet stacker. The guide is disposed facing an uppermost sheet of the sheets on the sheet stacker. The holder holds the guide and has a groove along which the guide is inserted. The groove has a plurality of direction switching portions at each of which the guide changes a direction of movement when the groove receives the guide.

A sheet conveying device includes a sheet stacker, an air blower, a guide, and a holder. The sheet stacker stacks sheets. The air blower blows air to the sheets on the sheet stacker. The guide is disposed facing an uppermost sheet of the sheets on the sheet stacker. The holder holds the guide and has a groove along which the guide is inserted. The groove has a plurality of direction switching portions at each of which the guide changes a direction of movement when the groove receives the guide.
MEDIUM CONVEYANCE DEVICE
Provided is a medium conveying apparatus to enable suitable feeding of a plurality of types of media. A medium conveying apparatus includes a guide member including an opening or a notch and configured to form a conveyance surface of a medium, a feed roller located inside the opening or the notch and configured to feed the medium, a separation roller located to face the feed roller, and protruding parts located on left and right sides of the separation roller relative to a medium conveying direction. The guide member includes recessed parts positioned on left and right sides of the feed roller relative to the medium conveying direction. The protruding parts are located at positions facing the opening or the notch, or the recessed parts in such a way that the medium is conveyed between the protruding parts and the recessed parts. A tip of each of the protruding parts is positioned on the feed roller side of a nip part of the feed roller and the separation roller.
Recording-medium feeding device and processing apparatus equipped with the same
A recording-medium feeding device includes a container, a separating mechanism, and a suppressing member. The container accommodates recording media. The separating mechanism includes a driving member, a separating member, and a torque limiter. The driving member comes into contact with and delivers an uppermost recording medium. The separating member separates the recording media one-by-one. When a rotational torque smaller than a predetermined rotational torque is applied to the torque limiter, the torque limiter repels a load of the rotational torque to inhibit rotation of the separating member. When a rotational torque larger than or equal to the predetermined rotational torque is applied to the torque limiter, the torque limiter allows the separating member to be rotationally driven in accordance with the load. The suppressing member suppresses receding movement of the recording media caused by reverse rotation of the separating member when the driving member stops.
