A sheet conveying device includes a pair of rollers, a biasing member, a guide member, a biasing support, and a biasing force changer. The pair of rollers includes a first roller and a second roller disposed in contact with the first roller. The pair of rollers is configured to hold a sheet between the first roller and the second roller. The biasing member is configured to bias the first roller toward the second roller. The biasing support is configured to support the biasing member and has a guide target member configured to slide along the guide member to move the biasing support. The biasing force changer is configured to change a biasing force of the biasing member along with movement of the biasing support. The guide target member has a portion projecting into a sheet conveyance passage through which the sheet is conveyed by the pair of rollers.

A recording device includes an edge detection unit configured to detect an edge of a medium on a conveyance path, and a control unit configured to receive detection information from the edge detection unit, wherein the control unit acquires, based on the detection information from the edge detection unit, a direction of skewing of the medium and/or an amount of the skewing on the conveyance path and outputs skewing information including the direction of the skewing and the amount of the skewing.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes: a conveying roller; a separating roller which forms a nip portion by pressing the conveying roller and separates a sheet conveyed by the conveying roller one by one in the nip portion; a moving portion configured to move a stacking portion from a first position at which a sheet stacked in the stacking portion and a feeding roller are separated from each other to a second position at which the sheet stacked in the stacking portion abuts on the feeding roller; and a cover member which is movable between a third position to cover a rotation shaft of the separating roller and a fourth position to expose the rotation shaft of the separating roller, in which the cover member placed in the fourth position moves to the third position along with movement of the stacking portion from the first position to the second position.

An image forming apparatus includes a flag, a sensor, a loop controller, a detector, and an image controller. The flag is disposed between the first and second conveying units and moves when in contact with a recording material having a loop. A signal value output from the sensor varies per a flag position. The loop controller changes a recording material speed based on the signal value output. The detector detects the recording material or an image formed on the recording material and the image controller changes an image forming condition based on the detection. The detector includes first and second contacting members that move to nip the recording material. A position of the flag, for changing a signal value output from the sensor, is included in a range in which first and second contacting members are movable.

For a printing apparatus, a first conveyance speed for a first printing medium is determined according to first print data to be printed on the first printing medium and a second conveyance speed for a second printing medium is determined according to second print data to be printed on the second printing medium that follows the first printing medium along a conveying path. In a case where the second conveyance speed is equal to the first conveyance speed, a conveyance operation of the second printing medium is started before the first printing medium is discharged from the conveying path. For instance, a document being printed out from the printer machine may be monitored for, and a determination that a document is being printed out from the printer machine may be made based on the monitoring. The printed document may be engaged with an arm mechanism of the dispensing device, the printed document may be urged towards a slot of the dispensing device with the arm mechanism, and the printed document may be dispensed out of the slot with the arm mechanism.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a conveyance rotating member pair configured to convey a sheet in a sheet conveyance direction, a skew correction portion including a first abutment portion, and a second abutment portion that is disposed at a position different from the first abutment portion in a width direction orthogonal to the sheet conveyance direction, and a guide portion. The guide portion includes a guide surface that is disposed between the first abutment portion and the second abutment portion in the width direction and forms a conveyance path, a first recess portion that is recessed to an opposite side to the conveyance path with respect to the guide surface, and a second recess portion that is recessed to the opposite side to the conveyance path with respect to the guide surface.
