A first roller pair disposed upstream of a second roller pair is separated from each other by a separating mechanism. A control portion is configured to start rotating the second roller pair after a leading edge of a sheet in a sheet conveyance direction is abutted against the second roller pair in a stopped condition. The control portion is configured to execute, based on the information concerning the sheet length acquired by the acquisition portion, either one of a plurality of modes including a first mode of rotating an upstream roller pair and the first roller pair to convey the sheet while the first roller pair is in a contact condition and a second mode of operating the separating mechanism to separate the first roller pair and of rotating the upstream roller pair to convey the sheet while the first roller pair is in a separated condition.

In a conveyance operation, a leading edge of a sheet in a sheet conveyance direction is abutted against a second conveyance member in a stopped state while a first drive source is driving a first conveyance member at the first speed, and then a second drive source starts to drive the second conveyance member with a target of a second speed while the first drive source is continuously driving the first conveyance member. A speed change processing is executed during the conveyance operation, such that the first drive source changes the first conveyance member from the first speed to a third speed that is smaller than the second speed before the second conveyance member reaches the second speed, and then changes the first conveyance member from the third speed to the second speed.

The movable guide opposes the first side of the sheet and moves in such a manner that the downstream portion of the movable guide moves closer to or away from the second guide.

A post-processing device (200) includes a circulation conveyance path, a zeroth conveyer (R0), and a controller (50). The controller controls the third conveyer to stop the preceding sheet, subsequently controls the zeroth conveyer and the third conveyer to overlay the preceding sheet with the following sheet to form a sheet bundle (Q) having a shift amount (G) between a leading edges of the preceding sheet and the following sheet and strike the leading edges of the preceding sheet and the following sheet against the first conveyer.

An example print medium supplying apparatus includes a print medium transporting device to pick up a print medium loaded in a loading portion and transport the picked-up print medium, a print medium alignment portion to align a leading end of the transported print medium, a first sensor to sense the print medium that passes through a feed roller of the print medium transporting device, and a processor to, based on a measured value with respect to the print medium sensed by the first sensor and a multi-feeding determination reference value corresponding to a sheet of the print medium, detect multi-feeding of the print medium and process the detected multi-feeding by controlling the print medium transporting device and the print medium alignment portion.
MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS
A medium conveying apparatus includes a medium tray on which a medium is placed, a skew corrector that rotates the medium in such a manner that a part of an end of the medium is aligned with a predetermined line, a rotating member that contacts with the medium, and a conveyor that conveys the medium in a conveying direction, wherein the rotating member is supported rotatably on the medium tray so that, when the medium moves in a direction different from the conveying direction, the rotating member rotates following the medium.

The two rollers are configured to be separated from each other along with movement of the movable member.
