PRINTING APPARATUS
There is provided a printing apparatus that is capable of reducing an occurrence of transport disorder of a medium when transporting the medium unwound from an unwinding unit that holds a roll body.
The printing apparatus performs printing on the medium unwound from the roll body having the medium wound into a cylindrical shape, the printing apparatus including: an unwinding unit 40 that rotatably holds the roll body and unwinds the medium by rotating the roll body; a transport unit that transports the medium unwound from the unwinding unit 40; and a printing unit that performs printing on the medium transported by the transport unit. The unwinding unit 40 includes a first rotary body 441 that is integrally rotatable with the roll body by engaging with a first end of the roll body, a second rotary body 451 that is integrally rotatable with the roll body by engaging with a second end of the roll body, a first motor 442 that rotatably drives the first rotary body 441, and a second motor 452 that rotatably drives the second rotary body 451.
Printer
A printer includes a platen roller portion (23) that feeds a continuous paper, a printing head portion (13) that performs printing on the continuous paper, and a damper portion (15) that reduces a stress acting on the continuous paper. In a case of a transition from a state where the printing head portion (13) is positioned on an open position separated from the platen roller portion (23) and the damper portion (15) is positioned on an open position separated from the continuous paper to a state where the printing head portion (13) is positioned on a closed position opposing the platen roller portion (23) and the damper portion (15) is positioned on a closed position abutting on the continuous paper, the damper portion (15) moves to the closed position after the printing head portion (13) moved to the closed position.

METHOD AND KIT FOR UNWINDING A SHEET OF MATERIAL WOUND IN A BOBBIN
The invention relates to a method to unwind a sheet of material wound in a bobbin, the method comprising: providing a bobbin of a coiled sheet, the bobbin defining an outer surface and comprising a free portion of the sheet unwound from the bobbin; arranging a compressing element on the outer surface of the bobbin, so as to define a contact line, the contact line being the line separating the free portion of the sheet from the rest of the bobbin; pressing by means of the compressing element the outer surface of the coiled sheet at the contact line with a force comprised between about (4) Newton and about (16) Newton; and unwinding the sheet from the bobbin pulling the sheet in the unwinding direction.
Printer
A printer according to one embodiment includes: a container configured to store a roll, the roll being a belt-like shaped print medium that is wound; a limiter in the container, the limiter having an abutting face to limit movement of the roll stored in the container and the belt-like shaped print medium extracted from the roll in width directions; and a damper disposed at a position opposed to a surface of the print medium extracted from the roll and the abutting face, the damper absorbing fluctuations in tension of the print medium.

BAG-MAKING AND PACKAGING MACHINE
A bag-making and packaging machine has a film supply unit that supplies film to a bag-making and packaging unit. The film supply unit has holding mechanisms each having a shaft that holds a film roll, a holding mechanism support frame supporting the holding mechanisms, a moving mechanism that rotates the holding mechanism support frame to move each holding mechanism between a film roll setting position and a film supply position, a splicing mechanism splicing a trailing end portion of the film of the roll of one of the holding mechanisms and a leading end portion of the film of the roll of another one of the holding mechanisms, and a film drawing mechanism that rotates the shafts of the holding mechanisms to draw the film independently from the film rolls attached to the shafts of the holding mechanisms and changes the drawing speed of the film during bag-making and packaging.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE, RECORDING DEVICE, AND RECORDING METHOD
A transport device includes a transport roller configured to transport a roll paper, a winding unit configured to wind the roll paper transported, a tension applying unit configured to apply tension to the medium between the transport roller and the winding unit, and a control unit configured to control the tension applying unit. The control unit is configured to control the tension applying unit to maintain a state where the tension is released, at least during an acceleration period of rotation of the transport roller within a period in which the transport roller applies a transporting force to the roll paper.
