SELECTIVELY LIFTING SUBSTRATES
Example implementations relate to selectively deflecting substrates. One example implementation includes an apparatus to selectively lift a part of a substrate away from a transfer member when the substrate is advancing in a substrate coating system relative to the transfer member, such that, across a width of the substrate, a first part of the substrate is coated by the transfer member and a second part of the substrate, that is lifted by the apparatus, remains uncoated.

A particle collection cartridge includes a first side having a particle intake region, a second side having a particle inspection region, supply and uptake reels, a tape guide, tape, a first pin, and a second pin. The tape is wound about the supply reel, extends to the first pin, across the tape guide, to the second pin, and terminates at the uptake reel. The tape includes an adhesive surface to collect particles entering the particle intake region. The first and second pins are fixed to not rotate.

A particle collection cartridge includes a first side having a particle intake region, a second side having a particle inspection region, supply and uptake reels, a tape guide, tape, a first pin, and a second pin. The tape is wound about the supply reel, extends to the first pin, across the tape guide, to the second pin, and terminates at the uptake reel. The tape includes an adhesive surface to collect particles entering the particle intake region. The first and second pins are fixed to not rotate.
Printing apparatus
With a cover in a closed position, a first internal gear and a first spur gear do not mesh with each other, and a second internal gear and a second spur gear do not mesh with each other. When the cover rotates by a predetermined angle around a first support shaft from the closed position, the first internal gear and the first spur gear start to mesh with each other. When the cover rotates by a predetermined angle around a second support shaft from the closed position, the second internal gear and the second spur gear start to mesh with each other.

A sheet storage apparatus and a printing apparatus include simplified mechanisms for supporting a sheet and for guiding the sheet. A sheet storage device that can store a sheet discharged from a discharge port of a printing apparatus includes multiple flappers provided below the discharge port and arranged in a width direction of the sheet, each flapper being rotatable between a first posture in which the sheet discharged from the discharge port is guided downward in a gravitational direction by using a first surface, and a second posture in which the sheet is supported by using a second surface being different from the first surface; and a connecting unit which connects the plurality of flappers to one another.

CONVEYOR AND IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS
A conveyor includes: a receiver that detachably receives a roll-like sheet; a conveyance unit that conveys the sheet in a conveyance orientation along a conveyance surface; and a tensioner that applies tension to the sheet at a position upstream of the conveyance unit in the conveyance orientation. The tensioner includes: a frame having a groove pair extending in a first direction along the conveyance orientation; a guide having a curved surface that contacts the sheet and an engagement member pair that engages with the groove pair; a pivoting member that pivots around an axis extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and parallel to the conveyance surface; a transmission member that transmits pivoting of the pivoting member to the guide; and an urging member that applies urging force including a component in the first direction to the guide.
Printing apparatus and storage apparatus
A printing apparatus is capable of preventing a sheet discharged from a discharge unit from entering a feeding unit while guiding the sheet properly to a storage unit located below the feeding unit. The printing apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store a sheet discharged from a discharge unit and a guide unit configured to guide the sheet discharged from the discharge unit to the storage unit. The guide unit has a turning unit which prevents the sheet discharged from the discharge unit from entering a feeding unit and which turns when the sheet comes into contact with the turning unit.
