Media registration system with media sensing

A media registration system including an accumulation region and a transport track to receive and transport each media sheet of a series of media sheets forming a media job in a transport direction from an intake end to a registration end proximate to the accumulation region, and to stack the media sheets of the media job in the accumulation region to form a job stack. A translator adjusts a position of the registration end of the transport track in a direction lateral to the transport direction for each sheet to align edges of each sheet of the job stack in the lateral direction. A media sensor indicates a position of each sheet along the media path to facilitate a controller to determine an accumulation status of the job stack.

The device includes a contact element which is arranged and configured such that during the transport in the transport tongue the note moves the contact element into a first position. The contact element contacts an area of the note at least after the removal of the note of value from the transport tongue up to the arrival of this note on the deposit surface or on the upper note of value of a value note stack deposited on the deposit surface.

A holding device, which holds down the uppermost sheet of the stack during the transfer of a sheet to be conveyed against an entrainment or a lifting, is provided with one or with a plurality of holding assemblies which are spaced apart from each other transversely to the transport direction. A sheet-guiding element may be provided, which adjoins the deposition station and which is variable in its vertical position with at least its upstream end by the use of an actuating drive.

A medium stacking device includes an intermediate stacker that receives a medium treated by a treatment portion, and a first alignment member as an example of a contact portion, that is configured to move between a first position for performing an alignment operation on the medium on the intermediate stacker, and a second position that is separated further from the leading edge of the medium than is the first position. Furthermore, the medium stacking device is provided with a stacking portion that stacks the medium discharged from the intermediate stacker. The medium discharged from the intermediate stacker is stacked on the stacking portion after a leading edge contacts the first alignment member positioned at the second position.

Media transport

A media transport system, includes a transport path, a drive gear at one end of the transport path, a driven gear at an opposite end of the transport path, an endless loop transmission element engaged with the drive gear and the driven gear, a media clamp secured to the endless loop transmission element, and a one-way clutch coupled with the driven gear. The endless loop transmission element is to rotate in one direction to move the media clamp and transport media from the one end of the transport path toward the opposite end of the transport path, and the one-way clutch is to allow rotation of the driven gear in the one direction and resist rotation of the driven gear in an opposite direction.

Media transport

A media transport system, includes a transport path, a drive gear at one end of the transport path, a driven gear at an opposite end of the transport path, an endless loop transmission element engaged with the drive gear and the driven gear, a media clamp secured to the endless loop transmission element, and a one-way clutch coupled with the driven gear. The endless loop transmission element is to rotate in one direction to move the media clamp and transport media from the one end of the transport path toward the opposite end of the transport path, and the one-way clutch is to allow rotation of the driven gear in the one direction and resist rotation of the driven gear in an opposite direction.
