VENEER MOVING APPARATUS
An apparatus for moving veneer includes a leaf spring having at lower tip end thereof sharpened edges and configured to move a veneer sheet toward its preceding stationary veneer sheet. Further lowering the leaf spring with the tip end already stuck in the veneer sheet causes the leaf spring to be resiliently deformed, which creates a force due to restoring force of the leaf spring that acts on the veneer sheet to move toward the preceding veneer sheet thereby to reduce or eliminate a gap between the two veneer sheets. Additional leaf spring movable with the above leaf spring and configured to hold the preceding veneer sheet during the movement may be provided.

CAM STACKING ASSEMBLY FOR A MIXED SIZED MAIL-PIECE SORTER
According to some embodiments, a stacking assembly accepts mail-pieces traveling from a re-direct mechanism in a first direction and urges a leading edge portion of a mail-piece toward a registration wall of a sortation bin. The stacking assembly may include a plurality of neighboring cam shafts, each with at least one cam, arranged along the first direction, such that rotation of the cam shafts results in synchronized rotation of the cams to guide an incoming mail-piece. Rotation of the cam shafts may also urge a previously stacked mail-piece away from the cams, and into the sortation bin, in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS, MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING SYSTEM
A medium transporting apparatus including a paddle that comes in contact with a medium discharged on a first tray including an upstream end matching member and that rotates to move the medium towards the upstream end matching member, and a low frictional resistance member configured to switch between an advanced state advanced from outside a medium mount region of the first tray to a first region, and a retracted state retracting from the first region to an outside of the medium mount region. The low frictional resistance member is, after a first medium is mounted on the first tray, switched from the retracted state to the advanced state, and is interposed between the first medium and a second medium when, after discharging the first medium, moving the second medium discharged from a pair of discharge rollers towards the upstream end matching member with the paddle.

MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS, MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING SYSTEM
A medium transporting apparatus includes a first tray on which a medium discharged with a pair of discharge rollers that discharges a medium is mounted, a guide member that contacts the medium, which is discharge with the pair of discharge rollers, from above, and that guides the medium to the first tray, and a width direction matching member that matches an end portion of the medium, which has been discharged on the first tray, in the width direction that intersects a discharge direction of the medium. The guide member and the width direction matching member move in the width direction in an interlocked manner.

STACKER AND MEDIUM PROCESSING DEVICE
A stacker includes a medium stacking portion for receiving and stacking a medium processed and discharged by a processing unit, a medium butting portion for aligning the medium by contacting a leading end of the medium, and a paddle that includes a feeding portion and is for transporting the medium received by the medium stacking portion in a direction toward the medium butting portion by rotating. Furthermore, the stacker has a first mode in which the paddle stops in a state in which the feeding portion does not contact the medium on the medium stacking portion and a second mode in which the paddle stops in a state in which the feeding portion comes into contact with the medium on the medium stacking portion and is deformed.
