POST-PROCESSING DEVICE THAT CONTROLS TIMING THAT AIR BLOWER FORMS AIR LAYER BETWEEN UPPER FACE OF FIRST RECORDING SHEET AND LOWER FACE OF SECOND RECORDING SHEET, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A postprocessing device includes a processing tray, a sheet processor, an air blower, an inlet roller pair, and a drive controller. The air blower forms an air layer between an upper face of a first recording sheet already placed on a loading surface of the processing tray, and a lower face of a second recording sheet to be newly placed on the processing tray, by sending air along a transport direction of the recording sheet, from an upstream side in the transport direction toward the loading surface. The drive controller performs an air sending operation, by causing the air blower to send air along the transport direction, before a second recording sheet contacts the upper face of the first recording sheet, and stop sending air before a trailing edge of the second recording sheet in the transport direction passes a nip region defined by the inlet roller pair.
APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING DATA CARRIERS ONTO A CARRIER WEB
An apparatus for mounting data carriers onto a carrier web has a supply device, a transfer device and a carrier web positioning device. The supply device has a drive roller, a deflector, and at least one carrying belt running around the drive roller and deflector. A transportation path for the data carriers is hydraulically connected to a suction box such that data carriers are drawn by suction onto the carrying belt. The transfer device has a transfer roller hydraulically connected to a negative pressure source such that data carriers located on the outer casing of the transfer roller are drawn by suction onto the outer casing. The transfer roller has an entry region adjacent to the suction box and an exit region adjacent to the positioning device. At the exit region, a data carrier located on the outer casing of the transfer roller can be transferred onto the carrier web.
SHEET STACKER, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE SYSTEM
A sheet stacker includes a sheet ejector, a sheet stack portion, and air blowers. The sheet ejector ejects a sheet. The sheet stack portion stacks the sheet ejected by the sheet ejector. The air blowers blow air from blow ports toward the sheet ejected from the sheet ejector. Each of the air blowers includes an air generator, an air guide, a first blow portion, a second blow portion, and a switcher. The air generator generates the air. The air guide guides the air to each of the blow ports. The first blow portion blows the air toward the sheet. The second blow portion blows the air in a direction different from a direction in which the first blow portion blows the air. The switcher performs switching so that the air guide guides the air to one of the first blow portion and the second blow portion.
A SYSTEM FOR CREATING SETS OF CARDS
A system for creating sets of cards is provided, and includes: a card supply means; a card moving system; a card collecting means to collect a set of cards, each card collecting means of the plurality of card collecting means being provided under the conveyor belt at different positions along the direction of movement of the conveyor belt; a card identifying means to identify the cards carried by the card moving system; and a controlling means to assign each of the identified cards carried by the card moving system to a card collecting means. For each card collecting means, a releasing means is positioned at the same position along the direction of movement of the conveyor belt, the controlling means being adapted to activate the releasing means positioned at the card collecting means when a card passes the card collecting means it is assigned to.
Sheet stacking apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet stacking apparatus includes a discharging portion including a nip portion nipping and conveying a sheet, a stacking portion on which the sheet discharged by the discharging portion is stacked, an air blowing unit configured to blow air toward a lower face of the sheet being discharged by the discharging portion, and an air volume control portion configured to control the air blowing unit such that a volume of the air blown by the air blowing unit is switched from a first air volume to a second air volume which is smaller than the first air volume while the nip portion of the discharging portion is nipping and conveying the sheet to set the volume of the air to the second air volume in a case where a trailing end of the sheet discharged by the discharging portion passes through the nip portion.
Paper sheet conveyance device and separation/collection device
A separation/collection device is provided in a paper sheet conveyance device for generating an airstream in a conveyance duct and for conveying a paper sheet inserted into the conveyance duct by being pushed from behind by a conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance duct by receiving the airstream. The separation/collection device separates and collects the conveyance subsidiary body and the paper sheet at an ending portion of a conveyance path. The separation/collection device includes a separation unit that passes the paper sheet pushed and conveyed by the conveyance subsidiary body, in a downstream direction, and that stops the conveyance subsidiary body by contacting the conveyance subsidiary body with the separation unit, a tubular path part that receives the paper sheet output from the separation unit, and a rib provided on an inner wall of the path part.
Method and apparatus for arranging sheets in a shingled position
The invention relates to a method and a device for arranging sheets in an overlapping position in a transfer unit arranged between a first processing station and a second processing station following the first processing station in a transport direction of the sheets. The sheets to be overlapped are transported from the first processing station to the transfer unit, in a transport plane and each individually lying behind one another. A respective rear, in the transport direction, edge of the sheets coming from the first processing station, is raised relative to the transport plane exclusively by the use of blown air, and a second subsequent sheet is slid under the rear edge of the respective preceding first sheet.
Paper sheet conveyance device and separation/collection device
A paper sheet conveyance device for generating an airstream in a conveyance duct and for conveying a paper sheet inserted into the conveyance duct by being pushed from behind by a conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance duct by receiving the airstream. The paper sheet conveyance device includes an air volume adjustment unit that adjusts a strength of the airstream according to a position of the conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance path.
SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feeding device includes: a stacker that stacks sheets of paper; a suction conveyor disposed vertically above the sheets stacked in the stacker for sucking and conveying the sheets; a blower that blows air onto the sheets; and a regulating member disposed on a downstream side of the suction conveyor in a conveyance direction, facing an outlet of the sheets of the suction conveyor and projecting vertically upward, wherein the suction conveyor includes: horizontal portions provided on both ends in a width direction; and a recess provided in an intermediate portion and recessed vertically above the horizontal portions, and a lower limit of a projection height of the regulating member is set so that, when there is a vertical gap between a vertical upper end portion of the regulating member and the horizontal portions, a length of the gap is less than twice a thickness of the sheets.
Stacking module with forced air flip assist
An apparatus is disclosed. For example, the apparatus includes a paper feed to feed print media a single sheet at a time, a plurality of rotating discs, wherein each one of the plurality of rotating discs comprises an elastomer ring to secure a leading edge of the single sheet against a registration wall and initiate a flipping process, an air duct to force an air flow towards the print media to levitate a trailing edge of the single sheet during completion of the flipping process, and a movable platform to hold a stack of the print media.
