A sheet conveying apparatus, including: a support portion configured to support a second sheet different from a first sheet among a plurality of sheets when the first sheet located undermost among the plurality of sheets conveyed by a conveyance portion is placeable on a placement portion; and a restriction unit configured to bring the second sheet into a first state in order to restrict downward movement of the second sheet at a restriction position located downstream of a support position at which the support portion supports the second sheet when the first sheet is placeable on the placement portion, and to bring the second sheet into a second state in order to remove or reduce a restriction force for restricting the downward movement of the second sheet to less than a restriction force in the first state after bringing the second sheet into the first state at the restriction position.

A sheet post-processing apparatus successively performs: a control in a first mode to move a pair of side end cursors to respective first positions where edges of the side end cursors facing a tray come into contact with an ejected sheet above and away from the tray and move the side end cursors to respective holding positions located inwardly of the sheet in a width direction; and a control in a second mode to move the side end cursors to respective lateral positions located outwardly of the sheet in the width direction, move the side end cursors to respective second positions where the edges of the side end cursors facing the tray come close to or into contact with the tray, and move the side end cursors from the lateral positions to respective abutment positions where the side end cursors abut against ends of the sheet in the width direction.

A media stacker may comprises a stacking platform; and a pair of a guiding tracks above the stacking platform and extending from a media receiving side of the media stacker in a media advance direction along opposite sides of a media transport path; wherein at least one guiding track of the pair of guiding tracks is movable between a support position and a release position to guide and support the media sheet above the stacking platform and to release the media sheet to drop from the guiding track to the stacking platform.
