An orientation changing apparatus includes a transport path along which a transport object is transported and that includes a portion having a space; a changing unit that changes an orientation of the transport object transported toward the space, the changing unit changing the orientation in the space by applying a rotational force to the transport object in a direction that crosses a transporting direction in which the transport object is transported; and a receiving unit that receives the transport object after the orientation of the transport object is changed by the changing unit.

RECYCLING BIN

A recycle box includes a box door and a box bottom housing. A recycle inlet is provided at a top of the box bottom housing. A guide elastic strip, a banknote guiding plate, an impeller and a banknote stacking plate are fixed inside the box bottom housing. The guide elastic strip and the banknote guiding plate are vertically and oppositely arranged, there is a gap between the guide elastic strip and the banknote guiding plate and the gap is a recycle passage. The banknote guiding plate is provided with a first stopper for placing the recycled media and an opening for flexible blades to pass through, and the recycled media are placed on the first stopper after passing through the recycle passage. The flexible blade conveys the recycled media onto the banknote stacking plate. The impeller has a small diameter and the recycle box has a reduced volume accordingly.

The transport unit is located such that a discharge position is disposed outward from the outer periphery of the base 52a of the stacking wheel 52 and inward of the circular region defined by the tips of the vanes 52b of the stacking wheel 52 during the rotation of the stacking wheel 52, when viewed in the axial direction of the shaft 53 of the stacking wheel 52.

Stacking and dispensing module

A stacking and dispensing module (2) for use in an automatic teller machine (4), the module is configured to be arranged in connection with a banknote storage unit (6) comprising a banknote tray (8) on which banknotes (10) are stacked, the stacking and dispensing module (2) is configured to be in a banknote stacking mode, when banknotes are stacked in said storage unit (6), and in a banknote dispensing mode, when banknotes are dispensed from said storage unit (6). A stacking wheel member (12) is active both during the banknote stacking mode and during the banknote dispensing mode, and that the rotation of the stacking wheel member (12) is configured to be controlled by a first direct current (DC) motor (20), and the rotation of a dispensing wheel member (16) is configured to be controlled by a second DC motor (22). The module further comprises: a current measuring unit (24) configured to measure the currents applied to drive said first and second DC motors (20, 22) and to generate current signals (26, 28) in dependence thereto, a control unit (30) configured to receive said current signals (26, 28), wherein the control unit (30) is configured to evaluate said current signals (26, 28) and to determine control signals (32, 34) for various functions of said module in dependence of said evaluation, and to apply said control signals for controlling said functions.

Stacking and dispensing module

A stacking and dispensing module (2) for use in an automatic teller machine (4), the module is configured to be arranged in connection with a banknote storage unit (6) comprising a banknote tray (8) on which banknotes (10) are stacked, the stacking and dispensing module (2) is configured to be in a banknote stacking mode, when banknotes are stacked in said storage unit (6), and in a banknote dispensing mode, when banknotes are dispensed from said storage unit (6). A stacking wheel member (12) is active both during the banknote stacking mode and during the banknote dispensing mode, and that the rotation of the stacking wheel member (12) is configured to be controlled by a first direct current (DC) motor (20), and the rotation of a dispensing wheel member (16) is configured to be controlled by a second DC motor (22). The module further comprises: a current measuring unit (24) configured to measure the currents applied to drive said first and second DC motors (20, 22) and to generate current signals (26, 28) in dependence thereto, a control unit (30) configured to receive said current signals (26, 28), wherein the control unit (30) is configured to evaluate said current signals (26, 28) and to determine control signals (32, 34) for various functions of said module in dependence of said evaluation, and to apply said control signals for controlling said functions.

For example, the apparatus includes a paper feed to feed print media a single sheet at a time, a plurality of rotating discs, wherein each one of the plurality of rotating discs comprises an elastomer ring to secure a leading edge of the single sheet against a registration wall and initiate a flipping process, a plurality of fans to generate an air flow, wherein the air flow levitates a trailing edge of the single sheet during completion of the flipping process, and a movable platform to hold a stack of the print media.
