Buffer unit

Certain examples described herein relate to a buffer unit for a printing system. In certain cases, a measurement device is used to obtain measurement data representing an optical property of a printed image on a substrate. A buffer unit receives the substrate downstream of the measurement device and places the substrate in a queue. In certain cases, a controller determines, based on the measurement data, whether the printed image comprises a defect. Responsive to determining that the printed image does not comprise a defect, the controller causes the substrate to be moved from the buffer unit to an output stack. Responsive to determining that the printed image comprises a defect, the controller causes the substrate to not be moved to the output stack.

METHOD AND AN APPLIANCE FOR SEPARATING INDIVIDUAL, FLAT, FLEXIBLE PRODUCTS FROM THE LOWER SIDE OF A STACK
20170341891 · 2017-11-30 ·

A method and an associated appliance for the cyclically controlled separating and singularizing of flat, flexible products from the lower side of a stack of such products and for conveying the singularized products away from the stack. The method includes the: gripping the lowermost product of the stack, separating the lowermost product from the stack lower side and transporting the product away from the stack. A first process condition is detected within cycle-linked measuring time window and a second process condition is detected within at least one further cycle-linked measurement time window in the same work cycle, by way of a single sensor in combination with a control device.

FEED APPLIANCE FOR FEEDING PRODUCTS ONTO A FURTHER-PROCESSING APPLIANCE
20170341887 · 2017-11-30 ·

A feed appliance for feeding products to a further processing appliance includes a standby circulatory apparatus with a takeover station and with several transport units that are circulatorily movable independently of one another for each receiving a product at the takeover station, a provision conveyor for feeding the products to the takeover station, and a control device for controlling the feed of the products and of the transport units into a takeover section of the takeover station and for controlling the takeover of the fed products by the transport units. The standby circulatory apparatus for creating a gapless product stream includes a release device for the cyclically controlled release of individual transport units into the takeover section. For this, the control device is designed to release a transport unit only given a feed of a cyclically correct product into the takeover section.

MEDIUM PROCESSING DEVICE AND MEDIUM TRANSACTION DEVICE

The present invention provides a medium processing device and medium transaction device that may increase stability by shortening a conveyance path. Namely, a banknote deposit/withdrawal device includes a conveyance section that forms a linear conveyance path along a front-rear direction inside an upper section block, in the vicinity of a boundary with a lower section block. An upper section storage box is disposed in the vicinity of a rear side terminal end of a rear conveyance section. Counterfeit notes are conveyed to the upper section storage box using a switching section. Accordingly, due to keeping the conveyance path length short, the banknote deposit/withdrawal device may reduce the frequency of occurrence of faults, such as banknote jams, and may prevent the circulation of counterfeit notes by storing counterfeit notes segregated from genuine banknotes, reject banknotes, and the like.

Decoloring method and decoloring device

According to an embodiment, a decoloring device is disclosed. A decoloring unit decolors an image formed with decolorable colorant on a sheet. A reading unit reads a surface of the sheet to determine whether the surface of the sheet is reusable. When the surface of the sheet read by the reading unit is determined to be not reusable, a marking unit adds a mark to the read surface. A first tray receives the sheet on which a mark is added by the marking unit.
