The liquid applier includes a liquid application rotator configured to rotate, in contact with the medium conveyed by the conveyor, about a pivot extending in a main scanning direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the medium and to a thickness direction of the medium, to apply the liquid to the medium.

One of the rollers is positioned adjacent to the single transfer insert placement mechanism and to the continuous web feeding mechanism. The continuous web is applied to one roller and at least one discrete web is transferred from the puck to the same roller after which a die cutting process of the webs occurs at the nip.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING PRESSWARE

A system for scoring a web of a roll of material comprises a plate, a scoring punch, a scoring station actuator, and a controller. The plate has a slot extending about a shape representing an outline of a pressware product. The scoring punch has a protruding blade operable to enter the slot of the plate. The scoring station actuator is configured to shift the scoring punch or the plate to press the blade against the web to form a slot in the web. The controller is configured to direct the scoring station actuator to press the blade to a first predetermined scoring depth within the web.

The spindle extends outwardly from a section of the backplate that is above a lateral median line, and the tape roll engages with the topside of the spindle. The sidewall is attached to the spindle's distal end and/or the backplate and extends to an upper end that is further away from the lateral median line than the spindle's topside, and no structure extends over the spindle's topside from either the sidewall or the backplate. The cutting surface extends outwardly from the backplate at a location below the spindle's topside. A writing device holder is connected to and extends outwardly from the backplate, sidewall, or cutting surface. A tab can extend upwardly from a center section of the cutting surface to prevent the bottom section of the tape roll from swinging out away from the backplate.
