A method for manufacturing a wire saw apparatus including a wire supply reel; a long roller; wire guides; a wire winding reel; and a tension arm controlled to move within a control angle of ±A (°) set in advance and configured to apply tension to the wire, the method including the steps of: measuring a surface roughness Rmax of the long roller; measuring an angle a (°) of the tension arm at which the tension arm swings outside a range of the control angle set in advance while the wire is extending from the wire supply reel; calculating R1×2×A÷(|a|+A)=R2, where R1 (μm) represents the measured surface roughness Rmax of the long roller; and adjusting the surface roughness Rmax of the long roller to the calculated numerical value R2 or less. The method for manufacturing a wire saw apparatus can prevent the tension arm from greatly swinging outside the control range.

ROTORCRAFT-ASSISTED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LAUNCHING AND RETRIEVING A FIXED-WING AIRCRAFT INTO AND FROM FREE FLIGHT

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a rotorcraft-assisted system and method for launching and retrieving a fixed-wing aircraft into and from free flight. The launch and retrieval system includes a modular multicopter, a storage and launch system, an anchor system, a flexible capture member, and an aircraft-landing structure. The multicopter is attachable to the fixed-wing aircraft to facilitate launching the fixed-wing aircraft into free, wing-borne flight. The storage and launch system is usable to store the multicopter (when disassembled) and to act as a launch mount for the fixed-wing aircraft by retaining the fixed-wing aircraft in a desired launch orientation. The anchor system is usable with the multicopter, the flexible capture member, and the aircraft-landing structure to retrieve the fixed-wing aircraft from free, wing-borne flight.

There is provided a new and improved reel member and a new and improved reel housing body that can suppress surface runout and accordingly suppress falling-off of an adhesive film, the reel member (1) including: a winding core section (2) around which an adhesive film is windable; and a flange section (3) provided on each of both end portions in a direction of a rotation axis of the winding core section, in which the winding core section and the flange section are provided separately from each other, and an amount of surface runout of the flange section is a value within a range of ±0.2 mm. For example, a diameter of the winding core section and a diameter of the flange section may satisfy a predetermined mathematical formula.

LEVEL WIND DEVICE

A flyer assembly including a spindle rotatable about an axis of rotation, an arm coupled to the spindle, a level wind device axially mounted to the arm, a first friction member disposed along a width of the level wind device and shaped into a convex curve defining the width of the level wind device, a second friction member offset from the first friction member, and a fulcrum having an eye or hook.

ACTIVE BALANCING SEED LIFT
20220090292 · 2022-03-24 ·

A crystal growing system includes a rotating seed lift assembly to rotate and lift a seed crystal supported by a cable. The seed lift assembly includes a spool that rotates to wrap the cable around the spool, thus raising the cable. As the spool rotates, it moves in an axial direction to avoid displacing the cable in the axial direction. A leadscrew in a counterweight assembly is mechanically coupled to the spool via a coupling (e.g., a sprocket-and-chain coupling coupled to the spool spindle). As the spool rotates, the leadscrew thus rotates at a rate proportional to the spool's rate of rotation. A movable counterweight driven by the leadscrew is thus driven to move in a direction opposite the axial direction (e.g., opposite the movement of the spool). The counterweight assembly is thus configured to offset center-of-mass changes that would have otherwise been introduced by movement of the spool.

Bobbin loader apparatus and method

A bobbin loader apparatus and method includes a bobbin connected with a first motor. A thread holder is connected with a second motor where the thread holder is configured to hold thread. A thread guide is connected with a third motor where the thread guide directs thread from the thread holder to the bobbin. A motor controller is connected with the first motor, the second motor and the third motor where the motor controller operates the first motor to turn the bobbin in a first direction and the second motor to turn the thread holder in a second direction such that tension is applied to the thread as thread is added to the bobbin.
